Roger that, did you get the aftermarket or oem glass? they just said i’d have to pay $250 out of pocket to get OEM
My bad, did not even bother to ask but was totally satisfied with the job.

$250 to cover the difference. Not sure if it’s worth it, more than i thought it would be. they must get that aftermarket glass dirt cheap
I'm sure volume has something to do with it. Most mustang owners, outside of forums, probably don't even notice. I know it wasn't worth the difference to me on my DD.

At least in my area, Safelite is a total ripoff. We had a chip repair, that turned into a full replacement when the "technician" applied their whatever machine to the glass, and it cracked all the way across the windshield. Of course, they don't take any liability for this.

The wanted 2k to replace the windshield in my wife's Model Y with OEM Glass. The Tesla Service center did it for $1400. (we have glass coverage on our insurance, but most insurance policies will only cover the replacement if aftermarket glass is used)

I do have full coverage. It hasn’t affected my rates with my current insurer but any time i get quotes for a different vehicle with a different insurer, it does get cited as a comprehensive claim for some reason.

Also they called me today and said that my insurance DIDNT approve OEM glass and would only do aftermarket, so i’m slightly rethinking it. Idk how to feel.
I’m sure my insurance will also refuse an OEM replacement. But I believe that if you look on the OEM windshield, I believe on the bottom of the passenger side IIRC, there is a note that the glass has some noise cancelling property. I can’t check mine at the moment because my Mach-E is with my wife on an out of town trip. But I’m curious what this noise cancellation does and if non-OEM glass would be the same. I also would consider asking the glass vendor if you can pay the difference for OEM glass and then put my own ford logo on it lol

Yeahhhh i’ve heard mixed reviews on the actual replacements too. If i do it then id have to get OEM otherwise it’d bother me forever.

They did say the difference would be $250 though which surprised me as a brand new one from ford is $380.
