I removed the passenger side door panel to replace a speaker, and despite being careful, I snapped the tab that connects the "upper" and "lower" panels, resulting in a gap when I put the door panel back on the door (see attached photos). Is there a decent solution to this? I was thinking about taking the panel off again, and gluing the overlapping pieces together. If that is a decent solution, what sort of glue works on these panels? Anybody have to glue an interior panel before?

Here is a good video showing you how to remove the entire panel if you want to try to troubleshoot it from behind:

I know the problem - there is a little snap fastener that keeps the overlapping panels together. That broke pretty much instantly (and I was trying to keep it intact). I'm just wondering if anybody has glued these interior panels before, and what glue works.

Can you take it off again, slide the pieces up tight, and then gorilla tape (or similar) along the joint on the back ?

I guess it only needs to hold the panels aligned until they are fixed in place ?

I would be careful with glue (especially super glue), as it can cause blooming on nearby plastics.

Would plastic welding or bumper repair kit be feasible?
That's what I was thinking. Just repair the broken clip. A metal staple imbeded, plastic welding and reinforce with appropriate epoxy. I don't think I'd be very happy gluing the pieces together permanently.
