I was at the local Ford dealer this evening and after reading about the rear window mis-alignment I looked at all the Mustangs they had (7 or 8) and they all seemed to have the top left corner of the rear window sunk down more than the top right corner. Is that the rear window "mis-alignment" everyone is talking about?

Some were worse than others, but they all had it. Sound like a typical G6 Mustang thing? The one I wanted was the best of the bunch ... maybe a sign to buy that one? :D

Yes, that's what everybody's been mentioning. I don't have it on my car, and looking at the photos people posted, I wouldn't notice it if I did. It's also something that you really shouldn't have fixed -- you'll create leakage problems way worse than the misallignment.

See my comments here. I dont think it really can be fixed as its an issue with the frame the window sits on.

I dont have that thank god.
It was interesting to see that if varies quite a bit between cars. Sounds like Ford needs to come up with some way to consistently install the rear windows during assembly so they are all consistent sitting level across the top edge at both corners.

The black GT I was looking at hardly had any difference, you had to look really close and gauge the difference by feel with a finger by running it over the roof and down over the glass to get a feel for how much step down was different between the left and right side corners of the rear window.

After months of this QC problem occurring, Ford HAS to know about it. But does nothing about it! "Ford is Quality #1!" I am beginning to wonder if Ford made a numbering mistake, also.

My car has it. I never noticed it until I read a thread about it on here. Now it's pretty obvious to me, but no one else has noticed.

Great, didn't know about this and would have never noticed this on mine if it weren't for this thread lol
Sure enough, the top left corner of my rear glass is about 1/5" below flush with the roof, whereas the right side is flush.

Oh well.

Mine is not perfect, but not visually apparent. After reading threads here in the past I did the finger check and noticed a slight tilt, but it was within the acceptable range for sure (slight tolerance variations is OK and expected), however, many cars as you mentioned have totally wonky rear window installs.

I have it as well, but I'm pretty sure no one will ever notice it (unless they read this site...) I'm just happy most of the other body panels line up.

This kind of complaining kinda annoys me, well more so peoples reactions to such a problem. Does it function properly? Did it take the act of going out and examining to notice? If the answer to both of those is yes, than be happy and don't go crying to the dealership to have it fixed.

Just my 2cents

Just because you don't notice it right away doesn't mean it shouldn't be made right. I'll live with it because having it fixed will probably just open a can of worms that'll make it worse in the long run so it won't be worth the hassle. I won't fault anyone else for wanting it fixed though.

This kind of comments makes me mad every time I read them. Why? Sounds you are a person who doesn't care about a car. If you would, you would stand beside a technician and wonder what would be crooked. The glass or the body? If it is only the glass, we could live with. If it's the body what is crooked ( what now a couple members reported already), should give you to think about the resale value. But maybe you have a lot of money to throw away and that's why you don't care?

Your Complaining, about people Complaining, about a Defect that is NOT acceptable, annoys you-->

Does it function properly? Time will tell if it Function's Properly, the problem is, it doesn't Fit/Look Properly...It's a New Car, not a Junker-->:tsk:

I care about my car very much and cars are a passion of mine. At the same time I am a realist and accept that shit happens on first year production cars like ours. It's a risk you take when you buy a first year production car.

I don't in fact have a lot of money and have earned every penny used to pay for my car.

Do you have the issue?
