Pretty much stumped on where this creaking noise is coming from on my driver side rear. I'm not sure if its the brakes or one of the aftermarket suspension parts (Steeda vertical link, IRS bushing kit, and support brackets including Eibach Pro lowering springs.

This noise has gradually got louder in which the noise started about a few months ago. So far, I've lifted the car and removed the rear tires. Inspected the brakes and brake hardware where it looked fine. All suspension upgrades were installed (June 2015) per instructions along with torque settings. I checked all bolts in relation to the IRS and all seemed tight and to spec except for the bottom bolt on vertical link where I was able to do a quarter turn before hitting 129 ft-lbs.

The video demonstrates the noise that only occurs when I'm in gear and releasing the clutch. The noise is still there even after having the hand brake on and engaging and disengaging the clutch. Any ideas or suggestions? I want to assume its any of the aftermarket parts with one forum directing it to the vertical link.

CREAK SOLVED on 9/30/16
After driving the vehicle with my brother (04' Mystichrome Cobra owner), he had an idea to check the spindle nut. We put the e-brake on, jacked the rear, and used a 32 mm socket to tighten the spindle nut. The nut is supposed to be torqued down to 125 lbs but it seemed that it was only 70 lbs
We torqued each side to 150 lbs (found out it was 125 afterwards). Put the tires back on and what do you know...creak is gone. For any creaking/squeaking, it would be a good idea to check the torque on the spindle nut. If it gets loose again, I'll replace it with new as they are intended for one time use.

I hear a similar creeking noise around the same area when I get in the car. If I kind of bounce up and down in my seat I hear it as well. Might not be related to having a GT or PP, since I have a V6. I have not noticed it yet while driving, but I'm imagine its happening if just getting in the car is causing the noise.

Ever since I installed my Eibach Pro Kit springs I have been getting a similar sound from stop to go.

Put stock vertical links back on and see if you have the squeek. Gone? There ya go.

Not uncommon also to have aftermarket springs squeak at an isolator. They shouldn't, but if you got it setting just off center or there was debris in all the wrong places or the rubber itself was somehow damaged (swelled or something), maybe.

Also check sway bar bushings and grease with suspension lube.

I would re -torque the suspension components, and lube up the drivers side vertical link. Make sure you take the bushing out to re-lube, that's the most effective way

Followed the advice given by wildcatgoal by reinstalling the stock vertical links but the same sound is still present. It did absolutely nothing. I forgot to check the lowering spring but I do know the remaining suspension suspension components are good.

Might reinstall factory components to do process of elimination. I have a slight feeling it could be the brakes but unsure how it could be that.

Sooooo I noticed that it happens in kind of a flutter when you start actually rolling one direction (forward in this case) for real vs. just rocking. Kinda a tee tee tee tee. It sounds a hell of a lot like it happens only really when power is being delivered to the wheel and almost as if something is sort of "skipping" a little bit. I'm no 50 year mechanic, but that doesn't so much sound like a bushing creak to me; more so something rotating.

Can you get under put it in gear and listen with the back wheels off like this video?

Half wondering if it's a drive shaft thing or maybe half shaft?

Spitballing...

what about re-torquing all the oem links, by loosening them, letting the car load them (IE on a drive-on lift, ramps or other simulated load), and re-torquing them. Its possible a link was torqued down at an incorrect angle, and the noise if from the bushing going out of its designed range.

PM i will give you specifics on what it might be, from my extensive experience on this car and with these noises it is one of two things and an easy fix.

I tried this with the rear on jacks and putting the car in gear. The sound is only generated when its under load. I do agree with you that its more rotational than anything. As you mentioned in the following post, I too think its possibly the half shaft as it couldn't be the driveshaft since the noise is clearly coming from the driver side rear.

I have 0 knowledge with Half Shafts so hopefully someone can give some advise.

Appreciate the suggestions but I think the factory components are fine other than possibly the brakes and/or half shafts. If the noise is still there after reviewing those items, then I'd consider re-torquing everything. However, I did snap these shots from before and after removing Steeda Vertical link. There was a lot of debris and it seems that some metal has been worn down off the lower H-arm.
