Question:
I have a premium 2021 and the rear speakers are barely making any sound compared to the fronts. Can someone please check theirs? I put the fader all the way to the rear and all the volume goes away. Can hear the music still but it's about 10% as loud and seriously muffled.
Please let me know if yours does this too.

Everything is geared to the front from the Amp. If you want to change it from "In My Face" sound to classic "Pop The Rear Window", you are gonna need to Sh!t can the factory "amp".

The Entertainment sub-forum will help.

Have you tried the surround sound setting? I prefer that over Stereo.

I still wonder why they spend so much micro engineering when all they need to do is simply use better quality components. All this DSP and over engineered audio manipulation is ridiculous and pointless. They do all this stuff and it never sounds better than a decent head unit and a set of 6x9 Jensen Triaxials, 6.5’s and a 4 channel nicely powered Fosgate, Hifonics or other great quality amp from the 80’s.

It's not an exaggeration or hyperbole to say that the speakers Ford included in the "base" models in the rear deck are the cheapest quality speakers they could possibly buy. LITERALLY (correct usage). I challenge anyone to find a cheaper/shoddier set of speakers.

For the most part, the rear "stage" gets neglected because they know that most of the sound you'll hear and experience comes from the front mids and tweeters. The rear mids contribute very little.

The same crappy speakers come with the B&O system, too.
OP, if your system is not working properly in the rear, consider yourself fortunate. Because getting them to play louder will only prove how terrible is their sound. I run my fader to only one click from "rear off".

Search for my thread on "how I improved the B&O system for free" to see how to disconnect your center speaker (or else use Surround mode), and to fade most of the sound to the front .

I don't know what I'm looking at here. Is it the holes?
The rear deck trim panel has holes in it but they are covered by the thick factory carpeting. This muffles the already craptastic speakers ford puts in there. If you want more sound to come though you’ll want to punch the carpet out of the holes. The hole is 5/16” and any leather punch of that size will work. However, removing that panel is a chore and requires your remove the rear seat quarter trim panels.

Because better components cost a lot more than the 20 cents of the actual speakers....

Yes, the 9 speaker has almost no sound going there and replacing the speakers doesn't help either.
