Here's a dumb question: anyone know if we can get the OEM stripes, and what part numbers are?

If not who would you use for replacement aftermarket stripes?
You can get the very expensive OEM stripes, yes - don't know the part numbers off-hand. For far less, you can get stripes from Big Worm Graphics in many color options.

He lives in FL very close to me. Hes a fellow vet. I'm surprised a vet would act like that. Maybe I'll get to meet him soon, lol

Not really sure how you want me to answer that question. I smile and laugh a lot. Some of the comments you make are just funny to me :)
Yea, you are a funny guy.

One on the left would be the end goal... but at the end of the day all 350s look good and would be happy with any, just being happy with it for all of my ownership depends on the color I fall in love with:crackup:

Here's an obscure rare color/model combination fact - there never was, and never will be, an orange base R. Unfortunately, it turns out that I'm the reason for that.

I was searching all over for an open allocation that I could spec out to my taste. Having owned a former Bondurant car, I really wanted orange. Well, once I got connected with a dealer who could make it happen (thanks @Tomster), I wimped out and went Magnetic with matte black stripes - a striking combo in its own right, but also a "safe" color in my opinion, as it has across the board appeal.

We'd cut the deal and they confirmed that I could change it from an electronics car to a base model, but they could only give me a couple days to decide on color. I'd never seen Orange Fury in person, so I found a dealer that had a Mustang GT in that color - unfortunately it was outside and it was a crappy day, so the color just didn't pop like I'd expected. To make it worse, the dealer wanted a huge deposit on the car if I was going to order a base model (no AC in Florida) with orange paint!!!

As we now know, the last base Rs were built in March '18 (JR265 was one of the last few base models down the line - that's another story, all together). Starting on April 1 of that year the federal mandate for rear view cameras kicked in and meant that all Rs built from that day on would be electronics cars. And, while the earlier cars were offered in Competition Orange, that color wasn't available on the R, meaning that 2018 was the first year you could get an orange R.

So, '18 was both the last year for the base R and the first year for orange Rs. Had I gone through with the order the way I'd planned, it would have been a one-of-one car. Unfortunately, I choked at the last minute and the rest is history.

And, that's the story on why there never was and never will be an orange base-R (fury or otherwise). Sorry to all the future collectors...... it's my fault.

Good story! I like the idea of a no-option car as it is as "light" as the car can get and is not likely to be ordered since it does not include the "necessities" a driver would want. Orange would have been a great choice, but I see why you were hesitant. I chose a safe color on my M3 and now regret it, although I will never sell it. To me ordering a bright color that is hard to pull off is a big risk, but at the end of the day, it would have been a cool spec. I appreciate the share!

I am lucky to have been able to order my 2020 350R exactly as I wanted it - Kona Blue, no stripes, zero options. Looks to be a 1 of 1 car per the spreadsheet. I had been wanting a 350R since they were introduced (to sit next to my now-departed 2013 Laguna) and I finally was able to get an allocation at MSRP from a local dealer. Love every second of owning and driving it!

ScreaminV8 - if you can get one, please do! You will enjoy the hell out of it. So precise yet rowdy as sh-t and a blast to drive.

Sweet spec! I love the blue and is clean with no stripes. I definitely plan to own one in the future. I will get a 350 over the R as the Rs are drastically more than the regular 350. The market is “high” at the moment. These cars were never really low and will never go down in value in my opinion. I want to see if the market does go anywhere. If I had the money right now I would already have one!

It really is a terrible time to be in the market for a car, especially something rare-ish, manual, and cool. I wish you luck in your journey to GT350 ownership!
