‘87 Shelby brought 2 limited edition gems to the market with the Omni GLHS and the Charger GLHS. Long before the carbon fiber wheels on the GT350 and GT500, Shelby had the light weight “Fiber-ride” fiberglass reinforced wheels fitted on the special edition Dodge Shadow Shelby CSX-VNT. A lot of technology went into this model in 1989. I had “warm and fuzzies” that a new generation of muscle car competition was brewing as Ford and GM were also tweaking their muscle cars.
