I was thinking of getting a tune for the radiator fans to kick on sooner. What do you guys think would be the best temperature for the radiator fans to kick on for the best cooling? I was thinking probably 190?

I think at 190 they will be running 100% of the time once warmed up. That's a lot of utilization for probability not much benefit at that temp. It takes energy from the motor to run the fans so you sacrifice that power basically all the time (unless WOT in which case I think they turn off).
I lowered mine from 212 target to 208 and I notice them on a lot more even with that change. But it does help keep temperatures down a little when driving around town.

Thank you for the information I have electronic fans so it probably should just take the energy from the battery but idk what I’m going to have it set as

They all have electric fans. It does put a little load on the engine when they're running high speed. the alternator has to keep the battery charged, but all your accessories, fans included run off the alternator when the engine is running, not the battery.

Do you have to adjust fan temps in a tune or is that possibly a forscan feature?
I’m very very sure you can do it in forscan but I have my own personal tuner and I was thinking of adjusting the radiator fans with a tune revision

I swapped to a 170 reisch thermostat. I start the fan ramping on at 170 to match. I’m at 85% at 185 and 100% at 190. It usually doesn’t get too noisy unless i sit and idle for a while like a drive through. Temp generally stays under 185. The fan is way noisier at 100% than 85.

Awesome I was going to go with a 170 thermostat as well and if you don’t mind what’s your cylinder head temps average since you got the 170 thermostat and does your car perform better with that thermostat?

I don’t really monitor cht since ect is what’s used throughout the tune. I spent a lot of time trying to get the most out of knock-limited true 93 octane and ford has a nice embedded table showing how ect affects timing limitations at knock. It’s a pretty clear relationship between ect and timing so I wanted to get all the blood out of that turnip.

it's not gonna kill timing with anything under 200 degrees.

I was under the impression that the fans only had two speeds (high, low). Is it actually possible to set the percent to whatever you want?
And when does the oem thermostat open up? I searched but didn't spot the answer. I thought it was 190 but I'm second guessing myself.
