Quieter then "Quiet mode"?

Following with interest, I have a 94db event in September and figured quiet mode would get the job done. May have to look into a Laguna pipe.

Am I understanding it correctly that if you have exhaust in quiet mode, the exhaust will open up as you get on it ? If so, is there a certain rpm or what triggers it ?

Yes it’s throttle % x Rpm related

Yeh I had mine tuned differently in quiet mode. It opens sooner on mine. Great on the highway. Suddenly opens when overtaking.

Would there be a negative effect to a table change that keeps it closed? Essentially trading power away for a quieter exhaust? Just so the OP could comply with the noise restrictions at this track.

@Turbeau - It sounds like HP Tuners may offer a solution.

Read my post again - set it to quiet mode and then pull the fuse. It won't be always set to track because you de-power closed valve. It won't magically open on its own.

Here - once and for all - I promise this isn't 20 minutes long video when I talk about what active exhaust is, why it's great or not, what the fuse does and so on. It is a minute long.



Car is in quiet mode, valve is closed, I pull the fuse (car will show Normal mode and likely exhaust mode selection unavailable at start up) and valve stays closed.

Same thing worked on friend's Mach 1.

Problem with the measurements are they're terribly inconsistent - at St Louis CAM challenge I've been over the 100 dB limit every single time (it's where I pulled the fuse discussed above) to avoid DSQ. Last weekend at Peru Pro I went and checked logs - 92-93 dB. Same active exhaust with h pipe (or x pipe - don't remember).

Love this option versus having to fab some sort of add on pipe or modify the exhaust. If they yell at me at Laguna in “quiet mode,” I’ll go this route for sure. Thank you.
