When I start my car in the morning and it is cold i back out of my parking spot and cut the wheel to one side and i hear this thunk with the tire or something like the wheel is hitting the car or something. Anyone know what this might be. My tire pressure with the cold is 33psi and when it warms up it goes up to 35-36. Car is not lowered and I'm running the original tires on the car. Any help would be great I do not remember running into this before with any car.

Didnt realize that was part of it. I knew about the clunking when putting the shifter in gear but did not realize this was related

The Performance Package has the Torsen differential. Several threads on thunking/clunking from the Torsen.
Found the information on the torsen doing a search, thanks. How do i close this thread now??

And it should stay open! I have that sound too, and it most certainly is NOT coming from the diff. It is coming from the front suspension. Front right to be exact.

Anyone else have this?

Mine has started doing it quite a bit more now that we are down in the 40's & 50's night/early am. I can get the noise to repeat several times by turning the wheel back & forth while either stopped or slowly moving, but first noticed it while backing out of parking spaces/garage and turning the wheel.

Yeah I agree mine is front also. I back out in the morning and cut the wheel and it sounds like something is popping under the wheel

Mine has been making a noise starting w couple days ago. Seems like a pop under the tire. But also I heard what sounded like a thud from the rear. Only happens once when I first start driving. Never happened before. Maybe it's the colder weather idk.

Didn't read the above threads yet but many associated this with the tire skipping when you turn it, nothing to be worried about.

My Ecoboost Performance Package does it so it's certainty not toresten diff related because the Ecoboost has the clutch type dif.

Mine sounds like it's the front suspension.

2015 ecoboost PP. I get the "pop" in the morning on both sides, but mostly on my driver side. After I drive the car for 1-4 mins it goes away. it could be a temperature related issue, or that I still have the summer tires on. Anyone have a fix? is this considered normal? TSB??

I have a V6 and I also have a popping sound from the front right tire area when turning the wheel and backing up.
