Just curious is anyone experiencing a knocking sound coming from the left steer wheel when turning into an incline such as a drive way... I have a bump from a cut out from the curb from the road, I heard a tap or clunk noise coming from the left wheel.... I have the gt with performance package

If you are good with tools, check everything is tightened up i.e. top mount bolts, ball joint and around the suspension as it sounds like you may have a little play some where. Also listen out for it over bumps or speed bumps in car parks etc. It may even be the strut it self.

Have not heard it over speed bumps yet..well see if a hear anything on some of the crappy roads here but for the most part, avoiding bad bumps... I've only heard it coming into our out of the driveway... I will have to check under again though... garage time now until the temps get around 40

I noticed you have the performance pack so I'll throw this out there. When I make a turn or turn my wheels esp at a slow speed the from tires will make a POP! Or crack! It's the cold summer tires skipping on a cold surface. Try and take note of this happening an what speed also how much you are turning your wheels.

It's from creeping in and out of the driveway since I have a rather steep incline so trying not to scrape the front end.it was 56 degrees out... I know the summers are crappy in cold weather but I've heard it before in the warmer temps, I guess I will have to check it again when it is much warmer... these tires are hard as a rock when cold so have not been driving it around below 40 degrees... it's in the 50s in the garage... can't wait for spring and summer already... it did sound like it was coming from the suspension.... though it is possible from tire slippage... though should have felt the car shudder a bit which it did not....

I have a gt with pp, lol, that sounds funny! I also have a ridiculous curb out my driveway and swore I scraped the car, I was backing out as slow as possible and heard an awful noise on the left side, but when I got out and looked all was fine. I didnt mention it to my husband who is a mechanic because he tends to think I drive like an animal when in reality in this car it's like I'm driving mis fricken daisy since It is my first manual and it freaks me the heck out when I stall it or choose the wrong gear.

Yup... same thing! Always turning left into or backing out to the right, wheels turned respective when going over the cut out.... not sure about the double ridge going into the garage though... maybe a small thunk when going over but it's always the left side

Had the same pop as many of you. It has been happening backing out of my parking space at work and cutting/turning the wheel which is on a slight incline. Happened the last couple of days. This is reversing with the wheel turned left and backing out to the left. Now it has been VERY cold the last couple of days. Down to 12 degrees tonight when it happened. 20 inch wheels, summer only tires. Mine seems to be the passenger front making the noise. Thinking it may be what was described above as cold summer only tires, jumping on the cold asphalt. I will keep an eye and ear on it. I can't see anything out of place on first inspection. Will see what happens when it warms up some.

I do worry though as Seabee and mine rolled off the assembly line pretty close to each other. Hope this isn't some "defect".

I think mine rolled off the line the 26th of October, did not get delivered till the end of November even though I am only 4 hours from the plant, so I am guessing there was something going on with it.... It definitely wasn't freezing when it happened to me since I haven't gotten winter tires yet, I only drive it when it's above 45, needless to say it hasn't been driven in a while since its like anartica out there :O

GT/PP same issue here when backing out in the morning or leaving work when it's been cold.
Loud, single pop.

my car does this too only on the front drivers side, it almost sounds like a broken strut or isolator. wonder if this is considered normal or not.
im not too concerned now as i will be changing all the springs and shocks this spring more than likely.

I wonder if the front struts are binding a bit with the onset of the cold weather.

Got it again today pulling out for lunch. I decided to creep really slow backing up after work and not cut the wheel so much. It didn't do it but when I went to turn left to exit the lot I got the clunk/thunk/pop while slowly turning left.

I'm really hoping this is only a cold weather issue. I've pulled out of work the same manner many times before the onset of this recent frigid weather and never had this problem.

I've been getting it even when it was in the 60s plus driving it around a bit you would think some of the engine compartment heat will dissipate around there and get it a little warm.. But why is it only on the driver side for me, don't know
