I see the same thing especially while shifting into 3rd when I'm accelerating out of my complex and the car is cold. I would say I've never been able to make that first shift into 3rd smooth no matter how hard I try haha.

I'm thinking it has to do with the trans being cold because my engine has plenty of time to warm up before I exit my complex since I live all the way in the back.
For me it is the initial shift to second that is most clunky. But sometimes third, also.

My '15 has never had anything but 93 in the tank and it has always been "cold natured"......slight "stumbles" when shifting until warm.

Yeah it's a little bit "jerky" until warmed up. I occasionally get into a situation where cold clutch + cold engine make the car lurch back and forth a little in the first shift or two.

More or less describes my issue. But this happens almost every morning. It's much more frequent than "occasionally".

Don't worry, it might not be normal but it is very common.:headbonk:

I have the same issues when cold. Running a Lund 93 tune and it's the same as before with no tune. Tune made no difference.

Yes. Most engines don't smooth out until they are warm.

<<< has a F250 diesel that still has to be plugged in when the temp gets too cold here down south.

This has been discussed here in the past. It's all about cold tunes to meet EPA requirements until the cats are warmed up. I used to run 93 all the time, switched over to 87 and it made no difference. If anything, a bit smoother on 87

I've owned a few cars that did this over the years from Dodges to Honda's. Nothing to be concerned about.

Esp motorcycles even ATVs. My old SV1000 and Rincon was very boggy accelerating when cold.

Civic SI using 94 octane seemed to help over 91 during the really cold winter days.

Just joining the "me too" club. When I first leave the neighborhood in the morning the throttle on mine feels "jerky" as well. By the time I've dropped my daughter off at daycare, everything works perfect. I was starting to wonder if the throttle body was acting up when cold, but seeing that other folks all have the same issue I will no longer worry about it.

Mine does the same thing. But I find if I ease out the clutch without gas coming out of my driveway and then give gas works better. I also don't give the car gas coming off my clutch into second gear. I only give gas after fully declutching into second gear. This works best for me. Third isn't bad and by the time I hit fourth, all is good. :D

Another one for the party... has done it since day one. Once the oil temp shows "normal" it subsides and runs properly.
