This thing is perfect. Definitely loud when you're on it, but if you're not accelerating, you don't hear anything. If you keep it under 2k rpm, you don't hear anything either. So I can sneak home without annoying my neighbors, and it still sounds insane when I'm on it.

If your S Type actually sounds like that, I'm gonna come steal it and leave mine.

Glad you like it! I'm enjoying mine as well. Perfect blend of hooligan and sports car. I think Ford could have amped up the stock one a little without getting too rowdy.

Mine seems pretty loud, installed it on friday... IT deff opens up over 4k, but inside the car with the windows up you can very much still hear it while driving, but i have 3.73's so maybe that why... no drone but it has a noticeable deep rumble which I like. I installed mine in about 25 mins.. super easy, very happy with the system.

You want it louder or quieter?
It's loud for me. The only part that really bugs me is 60+mph. I dont particularly mind on the street because I can usually go up a gear and mitigate the sound but on the highway there just isnt anything I can do (provided traffic is actually moving).

Its the gears, you have a PP car no? its the 3.73's... mine seems loud on freeway too, and thats why.

It's loud because it's loud lol. I'm sure compression ratio plays into the elevated overall exhaust note.

Yea, my S-Type is loud when I'm cruising above 70 on the highway (usually do 80). Speed limits around here are 75... so no cruising at 60 for me. I've got 3.55 gears.

Doesn't bother me though, and I wouldn't call it drone, but I can understand how some might not like it for extended trips.

This is why I want the S-type, you can keep it quiet. I just worry about my neighbors, I had a guy with a Harley down the street and it annoyed me every single day. I don't want to be that guy lol. The sound of the ATAK just keeps making me second guess.

Definitely listen to one in person before you buy then. You cant keep it quiet, I promise. Everyone has a different threshold for noise so it is subjective. I do enjoy the S Type most of the time (60% I guess).

I like my S-Type for everything except highway cruising. As someone stated earlier, you can always go up a gear to quiet the sound, but once you're in 6th, there's nowhere to go. I wouldn't say it drones per se, it's simply loud enough that you can constantly hear it around the 2000-2500 RPM range-especially when there's any throttle being applied.

It sounds great everywhere else, though, and as my car isn't a daily driver, it really doesn't bother me much. We'll see how I feel this fall after I drive it 4 hours to an HPDE...

can't keep it quiet? what? it's a borla... = only loud when you make it loud. If it's loud on the interestate at 70mph, because you still got it in 5th at high rpms...lol put it in 6th where it should be and you'll barely hear it.
