Hi all

Can someone confirm for me the following

Is the borla "Touring" cat back, just the s type axle back with the borla resonator ?

If that's right then the stock resonator with the s type axle back should sound very similar / slightly quieter than the full touring cat back.

The reason I'm asking is because I've found a couple video of the full cat back touring system and compared to the s type axle back and they sound different to me - with the s type sounding a little more raspy. But surely .. if the touring system is just the s type axle back then they should sound very similar

Hopefully someone can clear this up for me :)

ok great thank you - i guess its just the angle of the videos / different cameras used then that's making the above shots sound different

I had the borla touring catback with the resonator, and I replaced the resonator with the x pipe which made the entire setup a borla stype.

I just installed the S-Type Axle-back, and love the sound. Much better than stock (there is actually sound), and no so loud that it might aggravate the neighbors when I leave for work. It's about as close to the old muffled carbuerted V8 sound you'll get with fuel injection.

After a 400 mile trip this weekend i can also confirm there is no drone under 2,500 RPM.

With the S-type cat-back system, will the stock resonator still fit? without doing any cutting? i.e straight swap with the x-pipe?

Would be good if it does as an option to be able to tone the volume down if required.

You would need to cut the stock resonator to do a cut n clamp.
