Does anyone know what the statement "Thickness includes the individual plates of a vented rotor, as well as the overall dimension." in Section 14.6.A means or the intent?

I can't find any drama or much discussion on various forums about that statement in regards to 2-piece brake rotors used in ST. Only that the diameter and outside width of the rotor face being the same or larger than stock.

The vented space between the faces of the rotors available for the GT PP is larger from what I can tell in looking at pics online. So the thickness of each rotor face would be slimmer even though the outside dimension could be the same as stock. Just want to be sure if a rotor like that would be ok or not.

My 4-5 lb lithium battery setup. That's 27 lb less than factory battery!

The driver is almost to his 30 lb weight loss goal for this year as well. Plus, lightweight two-piece brake rotors on the way.

Conedodger...diff will have to be a next year mod (discussion from ESP thread).

Congratulations on the weight loss! That's a lot of hard work!

Thanks! Funny story...over the winter I went to a Portland area go kart track (Sykart) to dust off the driving skills and got smoked off the corners by these skinny SCCA Club Racer dudes. I don't like to get beat by things in my control and figured it was time to lose some dead weight. So of all the things to motivate one to be healthier; for me it was to be faster

WPS Featherweight Lithium battery, 500 CCA HJTX30L-FP-IL the biggest one they offer but just 4 lbs. Bought it through Amazon. It has no trouble at all starting the car but I can't speak too much on capacity or DD type use as I haven't ventured out much beyond going to work once or twice since I installed it.

There are a few different brands carrying Lithium batteries that would work for cars but since I'm into blue this year I went with this one

Shorai seems to be a popular brand among autocrossers.

I going to make a minor change to the neg hookup and put the factory terminal back on like the pos is. The ST rules say you can add wiring to relocate the battery but no mention of removing any.

The lithium battery has been working fine since install. I've let the car sit for up to 5 days and it started right up. No issues with heat autocrossing in upper 90 deg weather.

I'm making progress with putting the power down and balance off corners. Lowered the rear ride height 1/2", put factory rear sway bar back on, increased front compression (low speed) slightly and went stiffer with front bar settings. Also doing some driver mods as I still have some quirks with my technique from so many years in fwd cars.

Time for another round of prep:
Bassani X-exhaust cat back
Baer 2-piece rotors
Airaid intake tube

Curt trailer hitch

Hoping to take almost 60 more lbs out of the car other than the hitch. Will look at making the hitch easy to pull off for big events.

let me know how you solution that - it's been on my list of to-dos for awhile now. 38lbs iirc - but at least it's down low in the back.

Looking at it with the Bassani exhaust up there I see what looks like plenty of room to just drop it straight down and off the car. I don't think the mufflers are in the way now.

I didn't put the four bolts in that come out horizontally though and I plan to torch off the part of the Curt hitch that goes up against the sides of the rear frame. There still four bolts holding it on and that ought to be plenty to drag along the little Harbor Freight trailer. With it off I could put the bolts on the studs to hold them in place during an event.

edit - my notes have it weighing 34.4 lbs but that's the hitch itself and not including the bolt hardware or light controller and wiring.

I thought about doing the same thing...... Just wasn't sure howhow strong it would be.

The other thing that sucks about the hitch is that it scraps the ground sometimes.

When I towed my FF with an 88 5.0 Mustang hatch I used Airlifts in the oem springs to reduce tail drag. Draw-tite hitch connected to the "c-section" steel beam buried in the rear bumper. Bumper connected to the car via 2 or 3 bolts at each end. Connection was via impact absorbing shock absorbers. Loaded trailer weighed about 2500 lbs. Neither the hitch or the car was rated for anywhere near those weights. Worked fine for about 10K miles before changing to a van for towing.

The problem we're going to have is the cars are so low and the hitch comes out from behind at the lowest point under the center of the rear valence. So, climbing up into or out of a parking lot with a sharp ramp up from the street could be an issue.

The Curt hitch has a minimal amount of it down low with the rest tucked up under the trunk. The other model I've seen available is a little cheaper but has much more of it exposed under the car to me.
