Couldn't even get the driver side spindle off the halfshaft. Have to get the tool to pull the half shaft out. Put the passenger side back together without that thrust washer on there. I think it might be something that the ABS sensor uses. Really cheap and idiotic design. Here is the part.

Thank you for sharing, I’m more interested in watching you put it back together than some of the other high HP builds. Maybe it’s the whole ECOTERD that’s got me hooked!

Thanks, yes its been a learning curve. The last car i built was an all motor Fox body 410ci stroker that made over 500 foot pounds of torque and 550+ hp. It would yank the wheels from a stop sign. It was fun but really over the top. This car is actually enjoyable to drive places and it has all the creature comforts. Taking it to my buddys Ford dealership tomorrow to pull the abs codes(my cheapy amazon reader wont read them) so i can start working towards shutting off the lights on in the dash. My ETS intercooler showed up today so i will prolly have a few pics of that install tomorrow. Also ordered rear brakes and rotors. With that and the Palm Beach tune im at $8945 into my $10,000 budget.

Today's project is to put this little fella on. snapped a few pictures to show everyone what comes in the Box. One thing I have to say about this is it is surprisingly heavy for aluminum fins. I have held racing radiators that were much larger in size than this that were much lighter which poses the question... what the hell is this thing made of?

Well unfortunately did not get to work on the intercooler today , spent too much time at the Ford shop diagnosing the problem with the car. Looks like the reluctor wheel or Exciter ring is located inside the wheel bearing hubs on the rear of the car so I'm going to have to replace the driver side one. we think that will take care of my traction control and other lights associated with it. Also we've come to the conclusion that those thrust washers at the end of the half shafts serve no real purpose other than to keep the hub from getting seized onto the half shaft.Parts on order so I'm dead in the water temporarily

Id leave one bolt in so you can just let the core support hang. Make sure when you tighten up the 4 bolts that are the "inner" bolts that you tighten up the nuts on the backside. THEY WILL NOT TIGHTEN UNTIL YOU USE A WRENCH ON THEM. No matter how tight you tighten up the bolts from the front.

Just took the Terd out for some spirited driving this morning. Everything is doing its job. Car pulled hard all the way to 105...err i mean 55. I have to say, the rear brake kit I bought from AM really tightened up the braking power of the car. Few high speed twisties(50-90) and the rear felt real planted when braking entering them. Dont want to step on vendors toes as i am sure all of the slotted rotor kits are a leap above oem stuff. Waiting on my Palm Beach tune, a new rear driver hub and the catless downpipe i ordered now.

The 2 small shavings on top are metal. The 2 globs and the sliver is all rtv sealant that was in the oil pump screen. Ford might want to lighten up on the gasket maker around the oil pan and bottom.of timing cover.

More pics. Cant tell if the crank was walking and wore into the main girdle or if it was machined. One thing is for sure, this particular engine was starving for oil. All the bearings have excessive wear.

Piston damage. Top ring looks like its actually 3 rings. Massive detonation and heat here. You can see where even after it came apart it started to melt the piston. Not sure if you cane bore these cylinders or not. If you can, think ill build another one of these little boogers.
