I just contacted him directly and discussed what I wanted vs what he could do. I think that's probably your best bet. He's really responsive to emails.

So it's all the same font as the copperhead text. It has an R, then all the gears are in roman numerals. If you design something he can have it engraved. Since I am an Art Director for a living I just designed and set up all the files and sent them over for engraving how I wanted it and instructed him on exactly which powder to use for the knob itself.

You'll have to ask him that. He got really flooded with orders during the group buy and it took a while, but I'm pretty patient with it comes to waiting on parts that are quality and getting exactly what I want. I'm sure it also depends on how custom of a knob you're wanting.
