What's the difference? Why does pro charger cost more? If I go with the procharger I see they have a couple of different head unit. P1sc p1x d1. Which one should I go with? Right now I have longtubes a Lund tune and cold air.

Lots of different threads on this. I went Paxton and my car runs good but I suggest you go with HD oil fed unit if you do go Paxton to give you more room to grow. What do you think your end goals are as far as HP.

both are great brands, depending on goals is what head unit you would select, in general the 2200 sl / d1 are both very good up to about 800 wheel or so, in general you'll be about $1300 more or so on the procharger.

we have both available, along with some oil fed units in the vortech / paxton line.

feel free to give me a ring to discuss your end goals, to help with head unit selection

There are s550's in the 9's with the P1SC so its a very capable base head unit for sure. the P1X is definitely a really good upgrade at initial purchase. The D1 series are meant for the guys that really plan on pushing to the limits, I think the D1sc has a max hp rating of 900 and the D1x rated to go to 950, but the d series is really meant to move alot of air. If you have no plans to push over 750 to the wheel I would just stick with the P series. I personally like the look of the procharger and their quality is second to none.

930rwhp with a D1SC. Could do close to a 1000 with D1X with the Stage 2 kit. ProCharger FTW.

Made 850 on E with 2200 SL and headers. Probably going to push it just a little more (Boss intake, maybe some cams) before I decide to go YSi or nah.

Procharger appears to have an easier belt routing setup, however with practice the Paxton belt swap isn't that difficult.

It really boils down to how much you want to spend to meet your goal.

Either way Terry will have a great deal for you.

* Edit: Also truly evaluate your goals up front. I initially told myself I wanted just a simple 700-750 setup and the 2200SL was perfect for that. Well, I lied to myself and should have gone with a JT-B or YSi up front.

^ agree, I'm actually happy I went D1x up front with my procharger as initially I said to myself I'll be happy with xx and now I'm planning on return style fuel system, new intake, cams, OPG, converter, etc.

The d1x is rated at 1000hp not 950...it makes 75 more rwhp then a d1sc at the same boost level, and it has a billet impeller. I had a paxton on my last car and now I have a procharger d1x. After having both kits i prefer the procharger kit over the paxton..

He's 100% correct, as Im currently in the same boat. I want a JT-B or YSI-B now and thought high 600 wheel would be fine. Could never see myself wanting anything more. Well my car put down 686 on the 3.6 on 93. That was awesome and no lie, I was stoked. A month later and she made 770 spinning the tires on the dyno with the 3.48 and E85 well 70 tbh. Wish I would have gotten the Paxton Hd or JT-B from the jump. Hindsight is a ************. Either way Terry aka Mr. BEEFCAKE himself will take care of you and give great customer service. He went out of his way for me and I'd give him my business again.

I wish I knew when I bought mine that most people making 800 or more with the Paxton were over spinning the blower. I was shocked when I looked at the blower speed calculator and learned I was over spinning mine with the 3.6 at 8000. I would certainly go with an oil fed unit if you don't get the procharger.

With the new x blowers my vote goes to procharger. I like the install better, and location of the blower better as well.
