Destroyed 3rd gear. It's rattling around in my transmission. Heavily debating on the involvement of a 6R80 swap.

Sorry to hear about your transmission problems, Process. You still have, in my opinion, one of the best-looking S550's out there - nice and clean, devoid of extraneous content that could detract from the car's beautiful lines.

I do have one question. Where were you able to find 9.5-inch-wide, 20-inch-diameter Forgestar CF10's? All of the vendors whom I've spoken with have told me Forgestar only offers a 20x9 wheel; no 9.5- or 10-inch widths are available.

Thanks!

Thank you for the compliment, the Forgestars are custom made. Try talking to Paul at Howey industries.

Damn man. Sorry to hear that. Time for a Magnum XL or a TR6060?

Theres built MT82's just as strong for nearly half the price as well. I really want to try for a 6R80 swap though.

Thanks for the quick reply. I actually purchased the F14's that were on my 2011 GT from Paul. I'm not sure why I didn't think to ask him.

Either way, you should be able to put a 275 on a 9" wheel without issue. Not optimal but not too far out of spec. Theres also a decent 255 and 265 options in 20's with proper diameters.

I had initially bought a m6 Mustang and trade it in for an auto because I decided I was wanting to go FI. The only way you can tell the new from the old is the shifter, my boys haven't even noticed the difference. I need to work on them for sure. I have had turbo cars in the past that were manuals and had a chance to go for a ride in a car that was an auto. Man, the difference amazing! The constant pull vs. the head bobble of shifting gears was turning point for me. Another advantage of the auto is less strain on the drivetrain.

My car has 3.15 gears and allows me to hook up really well even with stock tires. Now if I power brake it before I take off, the tires are toast. I am sure the guys with 3.55s or 3.73s have more issues but man I love mine!
