Just purchased a new 19 gt350. The car is still at the dealership in Indiana. With the outside temp around 37. Is it too cold to drive the car or should I trailer it? Need to drive it about 130 miles.

The recommended tire outside ambient temperature is approximately 45 degrees. But I've had to drive mine a few times with temperatures in the upper 30s, like you are stating. I have not had any problems, and have not seen any cracking in the tires. I would say you should be fine, just do normal driving and say away from aggressive driving.

The car would also be coming out of dealership with warm tires. Not sure if that make a diff

If it's dry and you don't stop on the way home and let them get cold I'd prob do it. just don't try to push the car they won't be grippy at all, but i would think they'd stay at an okay temp if they are rolling constantly from the showroom to your house....

that said, if you were going to drive it year round later, you could always buy a set of wheels w/ a/s or snow tires now and swap them out when you go to pick up the car....

You'll be fine as long as it is not wet or you have no snow. Tires will be fine (assume you're worried about cracking - don't) and grip will be fine once you get some heat in them.

(I drove many times on a Bridgestone RE-71Rs in temperatures below that and other than them being rock hard, it was fine).

I bought my '19 on Tuesday this week in IL and drove it to Indy. Ended up being 33 degrees and unexpectedly raining. 180 miles on the car later and the tires are just fine, traction was only an issue if I gave it more than 50% throttle but overall not horrible. The worst part was detailing the car today and cleaning off all the road grime I accumulated.

hows the car fairing as a DD? I may go this route come spring. Just so paranoid with how low the splitter sits

It's ~35 right now, rising to 45 later in the day. I'm about to drive mine to work.

Is it a 350 or 350R? May want to see the post I made last week about the differences in the tires. Just take it slow and careful. Personally I would want to keep it away from the salt that's on the roads now more than anything.

While it's true you can get away with driving the Cup 2 tires below 50 degrees, driving below freezing is just asking for trouble because even Michelin says they will crack in that kind of cold temps.

I’ve scraped it a bit but it’s all underneath. Nothing visible or deep. It’s not hard to avoid scraping just have to be a little more conscious of your surroundings.

Same... I've driven in the 20s, and I've driven in thunderstorms with no problems.

Just don't be stupid, and you're good to go. lol

Yeah... .no thanks. I don't want to rely on potentially cracked rubber at high speeds. Neither side of this is safe IMO. Get the proper tires for the proper conditions and have good grip and safety year round.
