I have a 2016 GT/PP/PP and DD the car. The only complaints I have are the stock Pirellis. They have a rating of UTQG: Treadwear 220 Traction AA Temperature A This is a very soft tire. Most magazine shootouts require a tread wear of at least 200. any softer is usually a race type tire. I replaced my rear tires just past 6,700 miles. I went with a Sumitomo all season as I live in an area that gets down to low single digits. The ratings on these are UTQG: Treadwear 440 Traction A Temperature A. I currently have 4,000 miles on these and so far there fine for what I use the car for. It is my DD and I drive about 30 miles a day round trip. As far as stopping better because the brake or the tires, I can say that the CONFIDENCE that the FEEL you get from the initial bite makes you feel better and you may actually stop when needed. I decided to stomp the brakes from about 60mph and Holy WTH batman, things went blurry, but the stop was straight and true. Not even a whimper from the tires. Still on the original 255 Pirellis for the front, for now. If you plan on driving in the winter and you get cold weather, below 45* this is what Ford says about the Pirellis.......

"Summer tires provide superior performance on wet and dry roads. Summer tires do not have the Mud and Snow (M+S or M/S) tire traction rating on the tire side wall. Since summer tires do not have the same traction performance as All-season or Snow tires, we do not recommend using summer tires when temperatures drop to about 7 °C or below (depending on tire wear and environmental conditions) or in snow and ice conditions. Like any tire, summer tire performance is affected by tire wear and environmental conditions. If you must drive in those conditions, we recommend using Mud and Snow (M+S, M/S), All-season or Snow tires.
Always store your summer tires indoors at temperatures above -7 °C. The rubber compounds used in these tires lose flexibility and may develop surface cracks in the tread area at temperatures below -7 °C. If the tires have been subjected to -7 °C or less, warm them in a heated space to at least 5 °C for at least 24 hours before installing them on a vehicle, or moving the vehicle with the tires installed, or checking tire inflation. Do not place tires near heaters or heating devices used to warm the room where the tires are stored. Do not apply heat or blow heated air directly on the tires. Always inspect the tires after storage periods and before use".

I drove both versions in PP vs Non-PP when I was shopping. The PP is def worth it. Makes either the ecoboost or 5.0 much more fun to drive. Like others my only minor complaint is the really soft tires... i have 7k on the clock and they are showing wear.

Obviously the PP is better! I don't why anyone would buy a non PP manual GT...

You know the ecoboost PP has the same suspension and brakes as the non PP GT. The main differences that it's lighter, larger radiator (I think) with better performing summer tires.

I bought a non PP manual and I'm very happy with my choice!
I will never track my mustang so the extra $ for all these parts that are not needed and was not something I wanted to spend my $ on. Extra weight and much more expensive to replace brakes and tires. Not arguing it's a good deal and great parts but just not for me and I'm sure many others that do not need it or want to maintain it.

I was being semi sarcastic. This thread is mostly people with the PP justifying their purchase, as well as trying to make the non PP GT owners feel inferior.:gossip:

I noticed you have the stage 1 Ford Racing tune. I haven t seen any actual user review with it. How is it?

Ohhh, lol, sorry I got a little offended. It does seem that happens a lot on this forum.
As far as the Stage 1 tune, I'm still feeling it out. My exhaust definitely sounds more aggressive, Car is sportier/snappier and on highway seems to have more get up and go. Only complaint is the surging I feel sometimes when accelerating and decelerating at higher rpms. It's weird and I'm not sure if it's normal on a tuned car or not.

While not wanting at add up what it would cost to replicate the PP using aftermarket parts, I cannot imagine you could do it for $2495 installed. With a base price of $39,395 (GT Premium), the price of the PP represents a 6% increase in price. Hell, around here the sales tax on the car is 7%.

Except for my first new car, the Mustang is inexpensive in comparison to the others I have owned. Go for it!

For what the summer pirelli's cost I think Ford could put better summer only tires. They probably wouldn't put the Michelin PSS because then the performance will be to close to the GT350 but hell why not?
I can tell you before the Michelin and after,,,,, my 15 GT/PP even with suspension upgrades is "NOWHERE" even close to handling as my 16 GT 350 TrackPack,,,,,,, not even in the same zip code!

This is my first Mustang and I bought it on looks. I thought it was the sharpest one on the showroom. I didn't know anything about PP/PP but I liked the 20" wheels, I wanted 8 cylinders and I wanted it loaded. It also has a pretty big brembo looking brake caliper up front. (why didn't ford put nice ones in the back too?) Now ...looking back I wouldn't mind having a PP because I like the look of the extra gauges. But ... I daily drive the car on the street so it has plenty of go and stop power when I want it. I put in Eibach springs because stock it did feel "boaty" and I plan on getting some wider tires/rims. I think its a good value for what you get but I don't think its a "huge" difference in town. Drive both and decide. Huge to me is like 5.0 to GT350 ...just "my" opinion though

I care about infotainment
Non-PP GT vs PP-GT is night/day difference. If you ever plan to track it you will want/need the PP upgrades.

The Non-PP definitely felt floaty when I test drove it last year. And I'd say if that's the sensation you got as well, and you didn't like it, that's your brain telling you to get the PP.

The biggest upgrade on the pp, other than Brembo breaks is the oversized radiator. If you plan on the future to either put in a tune or FI,,,,,, you need the cooling. The suspension is always and usually one of the first mod's, right behind exhaust, to get changed.
The strut tower brace has to be removed if you go roots type SC'er,

I'd have a hard time deciding between premium and PP. I honestly think premium knocks it into a category way higher than it belongs (or at least feels). I sat in it and was as impressed, if not more so than my BMW (and it is cheaper).

That being said, when I pushed it on the curves I really wondered if the PP would keep it more on rails.
