Powder coating gen5 Whipple?

Just wanted to know on the Gen5 Whipple if you can get just the top cover powder coated without needing to send it off to whipple for reassembly like some of the older Whipple Superchargers?

Also if anyone has already done this can you post some pics of your custom Whipple?

While doing research on which S/C to go with, I did come across pictures of those that have had their top cover powder coated. Haven't seen any how-to instructions for disassembly though.

Some recommend sending it to Whipple for powder coat while others have taken theirs apart, powder coated and then put it all back together.

In this video (starting at 6:20) SUPERCHARGING A 2019 MUSTANG GT IN 10 MINUTES! (TIME-LAPSE) you can see them reassemble the top cover (in mere seconds!). Doesn't look terribly difficult to do.

So it looks like the top cover comes apart down to bare metal which should allow me to get it PC. Whenever mine comes in ill come back to this thread and let everyone know what I find.

I actually cerakoted my lid. Just masked the underside and removed the line bosses on the sides. Cerakoted the lid storm trooper white, the lil plates for coolant lines, emblem plates and all mounting hardware black. Was way easier than powder coating and was free since I already had the colors. It’s the H series and has to be baked once sprayed to cure. Good to 800 degrees. Turned out good for me. I did mix the hardener to give it more a semi gloss. I only scuffed the lid for prep as the black was a good base for the cerakote.

You can swap your lid over so you don't have to get the new one powdercoated again.
