Sooo Um Whipple goes and releases a Gen3 2.9 Whipple for the 2015-2017 Coyotes then this comes out.

A Gen5 3.0 whipple that looks an aweful lot like the Edlebrock 2650 blowers for the 2015 and 2017s also.

Yes I realize the Edlebrock uses a TVS but this is the INSTANT question that pops into my head.

Why go from a gen2 to a gen3 on a 2015-2017 if the GEN5s 3.0 whipple will fit? Does it fit?

I think Whipple has some explaining to do and I know one thing.

Id be super pissed if I just bought a Gen3 kit or upgraded to a Gen3 kit from a Gen2 2.9 blower and then Whipple just released a 3.0 Gen5 Blower........

Heres the Article for the 3.0 Whipple Gen5 for the 2018s

Again yes I realize the 2018s will have the 3rd gen DI coyotes but that doesn't address my question will it fit the Gen2 Coyotes.

If so ALL 2.9 Whipples just became obsolete

3.0 off a Gen 3 coyote won't fit a Gen 2 (15-17) coyote. They had to move the IC to the top because the injectors were in the way in the Intake valley.

they stated on facebook it bolts up, but you'd need to do work to the intake...which i bet a blillion dollars people figure out as soon as it comes out...

and i think it's hilarious after all the shit talking about the edelbrock

I'd rather just buy a Gen 3 that bolts up no problem and looks better but that's just me lol

For real eldebrock gets a lot of shit lol I don't think they had a choice with IC placement due to hood clearance too right?

The factory GM cars have used the upside down blower placement for a long time and those are eaton cars. the hellcat uses upside down blower too.

Trashing edlebrock for putting their 2650 tvs blower kit upside down is retarded.

Gee now look whipple is doing it too.

Also dont guess here people.

Whipple already stated it will bolt up in a different thread on here too.

It seems insane to me for them not to support a 3.0 Gen5 blower that DOES indeed fit but they dont want to support it.

Again if i had a gen2 or gen3 2.9 blower for a 2015-2017 id be pissed knowing their is a bigger more efficient blower that fits but whipple basically says too bad your stuck with the gen2 and gen3 kits.

I know it's probably just me, but I would NEVER put that ugly lookin upside down supercharger kit on my car. One of the things that made go with a Whipple for this car was the cosmetics of it. I knew how efficient the kit was already and knew what it's capabilities were, but the the deciding factor for me was how nice it looked installed. Kenne Bell & Roush blowers all make nice power as well, but just don't look as nice as a Whipple does. The Whipple is an extremely well engineered kit, doesn't look like an afterthought like most other supercharger kits do...

its is a very different engine, so they do need to adapt to the platform, the gen 3 is going to be a really nice upgrade for the guys on the gen 2 setups

Excluding the Gen5 the other question would be is it worth it to get the Gen 3 when they stated they have something else in the works for 11-17 mustangs. What the "it" is I have no clue lol.

All these kits evolving with bigger and more efficient blowers, going up and up in the power they provide right out of the box.

But at what point are you seriously compromising the stock engine in terms of longevity or premature failure?

The primary thing I like is the progression of Whipple, they're always adapting and looking for ways to better their systems. Most can't be said for others.

The "original" Whipple blower will put down enough power to spit parts out of the stock and even mildly built engines,
95% of the people will not use the original blower to near its potential,
they come up with a more efficient blower design for a motor no longer made so you can push it even further,
yet people still have the balls to come on and bash the company because the blower designed for a different engine isn't 100% backwards compatible.......

Procharger dropped their new X line head units months ago targeting newer higher revving engines and room for more.
