Hi everyone, I was recently rear ended and my car was deemed a total loss. I am looking at a 2019 mustang gt fastback 6-speed. I am interested to hear the opinions of owners, should I buy this car or should I look for something else? Hit me with the good, the bad and everything in between that a new owner might need to know.

I think it's a bit rude to come here and expect everyone to just vomit all their knowledge and experiences at you. Especially when you're not even asking anything in specific.

I think it would be a lot better if you just took your time and read a lot here, you'll find all the info you're looking for,

I bought my 19 six speed in November and I'm still loving every minute behind the wheel. 12000 miles no unusual ticks but I have the 2k rattle. I drive the car hard and haven't had any issues yet. I would definitely recommend the car and if you intent to mod it, these things love ethanol.

What are you looking for in a car? Have you tested driven an 18 or 19 model? Have you test driven any other cars? I would have many more questions for you than you of me at this point. As for my Mustang, it was the right choice for me.

Lololol I love how often Nova judges people for the simplest of things. it's rude to come into a forum and get others opinions. On a forum. On the internet .about cars. Fucking rude.

I can't give you any info on the 18+ model year as I have 2016 gt

What I can say is I absolutely love it in almost every way. The car is quick, comfortable and honestly has a ton of room for moving and hauling random stuff. Not that I expect people to use their mustang for that purpose.

The sounds the car makes are probably my favorite thing about it. Sure the speed is great, good handling and imo incredible looks. But when you really put your foot down the sound is just intoxicating.

Thing is the mustang is great in a straight line dash, around corners and even as a highway cruiser.

There are some reported engine issues and AC issues but every car will have some weird quirk of ownership. Plus warranties will cover it anyway. My car has run PERFECT for 3 years.

This forum is a bit funny in this regard. If the guys question bothers you so much why not just ignore it.
I see this trend where someone asks a question and then people jump in yell at them...." Use the search function!!" blau blau blau but in a real mean spirited way.

Maybe they should shut the forum down to any future comment or question and we can all just search the old threads for info!
That sounds like fun !

Lol

I have to agree with NovaGT to an extent here. Kinda hard to answer broad questions when a quick scan of the forums yields a lot of preliminary info. I know I read thru a bunch of sh...stuff before I had even registered as a member here. Then I read some more before posting.

Having said that, it sounds like the OP is in a hurry due to needing a replacement vehicle soon. As such, here are my dos centavos:
  • The good (these are very subjective)
  • Driveability: it handles great, good visibility, comfortable as a daily driver (point of reference: my fat ass sits for an almost daily commute of 100+ miles).
  • Sound: it sounded the best out of all the cars I test drove (but not sure what you're comparing against)
  • Style: it has enough retro without being over-the-top retro. Love how it looks.
  • Modability: lots of things you can change, if you so want to. A lot of vendors and people with expertise to help out too.

  • The bad
  • It's a sports car, even in normal mode, it isn't as comfortable as say a 3 series or a Cadillac.
  • Reports of engine issues (rattles, ticks, tocks, and damaged ones)
  • Little weird rattles and things that break that shouldn't break.
Overall, it's a great car, it wasn't even in the running for me, until I test drove one (for comparison purposes lol). Then to my surprise, I ended up liking it more than the Camaro and other cars that were on my list. Did my research, negotiated prices, then got it.

Good luck to you, hopefully you are ok after your previous car was totalled. The Mustang GT is a great car. The community can point you to more specific things if you have more specific questions.

You may disagree with my comment but you responded in a civil manner and that my friend makes all the difference.

Oh, one item I can't believe I forgot. The clutch pedal feel. Ugh, I can't wait to swap the spring out.

I understand what the OP is asking. Most of us on here are S550 owners so why not go straight to the source and ask for impressions from multiple individuals? What would he search anyway? "whats owning a S550 like?" "S550 pro's and con's?" Yeah he could do preliminary research but honestly I'd rather hear it from somebody in the form of an opinion. Y'know with some personality behind it. Let's take it easy here boys no reason to get excited.

Pro's: Stupid fast IMO. Handles remarkably well in the corners, and feels far more nimble than you'd expect, sharp turn in response. Interior feels special even with some cheap plastic parts here and there. All the modern tech you'd expect in a new car. The exhaust note itself has been nominated for grammys and can be changed infinitely with aftermarket mods. The car looks incredible from any angle. 460hp ffs. Did I mention how sexy it looks? At least once a day I've got someone craning their neck to get a good look at it as I'm going by. Decent trunk space for a sports car, and with rear folding seats I've fit an entire track days worth of gear for two cars inside. I've heard the new A10 trans is fantastic. 460hp ffs. Sync 3 system with apple play and the android whatever its called. Change the brake fluid and leave the summer tires on and you've got a bonafide track car ready to go. The front seats are buckets so it feels like your getting hugged all the time. which is especially nice if you don't get alot of hugs. The exhaust sounds like a polar bear walked into a regular bear bar and started a bar fight. Traction control handles a Chicago winter without a problem, didn't get stuck once. 460hp ffs. Hidden sunglass drawer on the drivers side. Huge brakes (almost too powerful when you forget how powerful they are). Revs out to 7.5k RPM bc its awesome. Sexy car all around, Disgusting amount of stock power, handles like a proper sports car, and a perfect cruising car.

Con's: Some minor engine noises you may not even notice. 3-4 shift forks have broken for a few people, some people don't like the clutch spring but it's really not all that bad. Every BRZ/FRS on the highway will pull up next to you and try to get you to have a go with them. (which is adorable.) non-premium has a dial pad next to the 4" lcd screen (Don't know what ford was thinkin). It's nearly impossible to do the speed limit. Cops will notice you more.

There's always someone out there waiting to piss on your parade, I don't get it ether
If I pissed on your parade I'd at least buy you a beer to apologize.:beer::crackup:
Nova does this on multiple threads. Probably to get people going and looking at this thread it worked pretty well.
