Does the MGW maintain the rear camera in reverse functionality? That would a big consideration for me between the two.

Yes, the camera feature must be built into the trans itself.

I'm glad you are happy with your set-up.

What do you mean "the stock shifter is body mounted"? The OEM and MGW both mount to the trans up front and to a vibration isolator, via 2 pins at the back. Am I missing something?

It's only partially transmission mounted as the bracket that holds it is mounted to the body. It doesn't move with the transmission as well under heaving load like it would if it were directly and only linked to the transmission.

Transmission mount explained: https://www.*******************/forums/threads/gt350-oem-shifter.1095456/

MGW/Stock Shifter partially mounted to body, disregard the camaro reference:

Cool thanks guys.

Then I guess I don't get why you would go with the Ford version if it cost roughly the same as the MGW shifter/install. I get the resale aspect OP is talking about, but I'm guessing if you kept the stock shift knob most wouldn't even know it was aftermarket. Some savvy ones of course, but not many.

Links don't work for me either.

Both the OEM and MGW mount the same way. The main mounting difference is the OEM rubber bushing at the trans mount is significantly softer than the MGW bushing. This causes the OEM shifter assembly to deflect more under load (when you are shifting it). The MGW is much more rigidly mounted, with less play, generating a more direct feel when shifting.

Uh, still not working for me. Both just bring you to the main page of Mustang6G.

Edit: Never mind, now I'm seeing them.

Edit #2: Pics work, links still don't.

Haha this is whacky, for some reason it doesnt let me link websites from other forums like SVT Performance... I give up

if you google: Review: MGW race-spec solid mount vs. MGW + Blowfish Racing bracket

You'll get to the link explaining the benefits of mounting the shifter directly to the transmission

^ Exactly! When you shift, shift, then get back to driving. Both hands on the wheel.

Or, as Tuco would say from The Good the Bad and the Ugly: "When you have to shoot, shoot. Don't talk"!

Just curious if you get any rattling from the reverse collar like the stock shifter does?
