Spartan and I thought it would be a good idea to start an mpg thread so that we could track the real world mileage of our respective 15 mustangs. Those of you that get your vehicles delivered please post which model you have (GT,Ecoboost, V6, etc...) Your rear end gear ratio, milage, your approx city & highway driving, and fuel grade.

My figures thus far: 3.7 V6 Automatic 3.15 gear ratio
ALL tanks will be 87 10% ethanol (most commonly available fuel in Maryland) for the foreseeable future.

Tank 1: 24.2 calculated by hand. 24.7 as read by trip computer. Odometer reading:~450 miles
10% city 90% highway 2hrs traffic

Tank 2: 24.8 calculated by hand. 25.1 as read by trip computer. Odometer reading:~650 miles
10% city 90% highway multiple 0-60 runs

Tank 3: 26.2 calculated by hand. 27.2 as read by trip computer. Odometer reading: 958 miles
30% city 70% highway

Tank 4: 26.5 calculated by hand. 27.5 as read by trip computer. Odometer reading: 1284 miles
30% city 70% highway

Tank 5: 25.1 calculated by hand. 26.1 as read by trip computer. Odometer reading: ~1600 miles
40% city 60% highway with 1hr DC beltway traffic

Tank 6: 26.5 calculated by hand. 27.1 as read by trip computer. Odometer reading: 1893 miles
30% city 70% highway

Tank 7: 25.1 calculated by hand. 26.2 as read by trip computer. Odometer reading: ~2200 miles
40% city 60% highway A-little more aggressive driving habits as well.

Tank 8: 27.0 calculated by hand. 27.9 as read by trip computer. Odometer reading: ~2600 miles
25% city 75% highway

Tank 9: 26.9 calculated by hand. 28.0 as read by trip computer. Odometer reading: ~2900 miles
30% city 70% highway

Tank 10: 26.2 calculated by hand. 26.9 as read by trip computer. Odometer reading: ~3200 miles
30% city 70% highway

Keep in mind my "highway" is mostly country back roads.

Tank 1: 26.1 as read by trip computer.
50/50 split, but some of the city included "suburban/country", and a half dozen or so 0-60 runs

-- also, I drove it fairly conservatively for about half the tank

couldn't get real mileage -- forgot to check exact miles when I took delivery

Tank 2: Calculated by hand -- 26.3, Trip Monitor -- 26.7
65% City, 35% highway. 93 octane.

Drove conservatively on this tank too. This is encouraging......

Tank 3: Calculated by hand -- 26.2, Trip monitor -- 26.8
75% city, 25% highway. 93 octane.

More city driving this tank, and the same mileage as last time. Driven normally.

Tank 4: Calculated by hand -- 25.3, Trip monitor -- 25.5
80% city, 20% highway, not as conservative. 93 octane.

Tank 5: Calculated by hand -- 26.0, Trip computer -- 26.5
75% city, 25% highway. 93 octane

After 4 tanks it looks like my computer averages .4-.5 mpg higher than actual.

Wicked! That's better than my 2013 A/T GT with 3.15's ... and by a LOT. I'm getting the PP this time, so even with the gearing, I'm looking at the same or possibly better MPG in the 2015.

It's great that y'all are posting this.....what would be cool is if you run a full tank to the point where you have to refuel. Use your trip reading and the gallons it takes to fill. To see the true mpg average as that is what I do

We had it in the V6 section. Most people don't visit that because of the stigma. That's why we moved it to the main section.

Yeah probably 87 then. They did that to my Challenger and I threw a fit lol what will you run after?
Updated my post to include fuel grade and milage.
Awesome thanks! That's extremely impressive with 87 and 10% ethanol. That stuff is evil.

Gt with performance pack. I think my car had 1400 miles when I left 2800 on her now. I will never see 25mpg highway but then again I didn't buy it for fuel economy.
My trip from Detroit Michigan to Brighton Colorado speeds averaged 75-90 first tank 93 octane 21.6 mpg few high speed runs when i was playing with a focus st.
Second tank 89 octane all highway, speeds 75-80 22.4 mpg
Third tank 89 octane all highway, speeds 80-90 21.2 mpg
Forth was pretty bad because of my driving. 91 octane speeds 90-95 with High speed runs in western Nebraska when no one was around :) 18.9 mpg. I checked the oil at every fill up 2800 miles maybe a 1/4 quart loss.

This gives me hope; my first tank is dropping at an alarming rate, even though Ive been babying it. Im at a half tank now and it says I have 100 miles to empty, and averaging only 20 mpg. Hopefully once this tank is gone (87 octane pumped by the dealer) and I start using 93, it will improve.
