Okay - my car's a GT Premium manual, standard rear, and I have a 30-mile round trip suburban commute to work every day. For the first 9 tanks of gas driven in my car I used only 92 octane (Wawa) or 93 octane (Costco) premium gas, and my gas mileage was pretty consistent at 16.01 - 16.3 mpg (actual miles driven divided by gallons of fuel used) for 7 of the 9 tankfuls. MPG went up to 17+ one tankful when I spent some time on the highway, down to 14.8 one tank when I flogged it a bit.
Then, for tank #10, I switched to 87-octane regular ($2.17.9 a gallon, couldn't resist). Guess what? MPG dropped down to 15.1… same exact commute, same exact driving style. I'll post results of the next tank of regular gas next week to say whether it's still lower or the last tank was just a fluke.
NOTE: in my last 300-ish miles of driving using the 87-octane regular, I did notice power comes on smoother with regular — much less of an off-on switch than with the premium, creating much more of an urge to wind it out to 4,000-4,500 rpm between shifts, instead of shifting at 2,000-2,500 rpm like I've been doing with premium. With premium, either you're on it or you're not: regular's a little mellower, with no noticeable power loss in the top end.
:D

I did some strictly city driving today for as long as I could stand it and got 17.8 MPG.

Tonight I did another strictly highway run (152 Miles) and got 25.4 MPG.

Neither is too bad for the GT PP.

Down to 10.6 MPG (was as high as 10.7) including a mix of highway and city driving over 1200 miles in my GT PP on 93 octane. I do tend to accelerate faster than others :)

Normal mostly city spirited driving for the last 2000 miles I've averaged 20 miles per gallon. Just took a 300 mile trip all highway cruising at 80. Averaged 25 mpg. Not as good as I'd hoped but still content based on the power of the car.

Yeah, it's tough for me to complain about mpg when I'm grinning from ear to ear like this. I expect my mileage to drop off a bit come Springtime lol.

I've noticed that keeping the dash display on "Miles To Empty" improves my gas mileage - 3-4 seconds of fun equals an immediate 5-6 less miles on the readout.
P.S.- any hackers out there that know how to change the display wording to "Miles To Enjoy?"

700 or so mile driven thus far, best I've had is 23.5 going 80 on highway. I expect it to get a bit better once i finalize break in and engine gets a good 2k or so.

Just an observation but it seems that the best highway speed for mileage is around 70 MPH, you get up around 80 MPH and it starts to drop off.

At least in a PP GT.

On my non-PP GT, the best highway speed for mileage is 60 mph. That's running at about 1400 rpm in 6th gear with the 3.15 rear axle. I've seen instantaneous mileage get up above 30 mpg.

For city driving, well. I use as much gas going ten miles in the city as I do going 50 miles on the highway.

Can't break 18.4. I do probably 80% freeway and 20% surface roads. GT with 3.55 and no PP.
