i'm more interested in mixed, real world MPGs rather than round trip hypermiling.

with that said, right now with about 800 miles mixed, im at 17.9

Yeah, it's the in-city driving that kills it. On the LIE or the Northern State or the Southern State it'll be up around 26 or 27... and then as soon as I get into the city it just starts dropping like a stone. Sometimes I'll sit in traffic, taking an hour to go a half mile, and just stare at the mpg number as it steadily drops.

i am heavy on the throttle though... especially on on ramps.

I don't even get 19mpg in the city on my V6. Lots and lots of stop and go... thought that's what "city" meant.

Guys,

I guess driving conditions vary for everyone, which a majorly affected by City we live in, climate condition and stuff right.

Now for me , EB gives only IN CITY 17-19, which is acceptable because too much traffic, traffic lights and yes its very cold here in eastern coast.

When i go highway , yes i have touched 28 MPG , as it was not a very long drive yet still.

So we have loads of factors affecting, so comparing one another is lil dicey.

Moreover, driving patterns vary, some of us are high rev guys, some are laid back drivers.

Just my opinion.

Yep, but this thread is to help people see what people are getting and how it could influence their decision making in manual, auto, gears, PP, etc.

Well here in DC, I can tell you that CITY driving can be either nothing or horrible depending on when you leave. So I can be literally doing city through DC but hit every light and my explorer does great....if I'm there during rush hour...that MPG drops.

I actually work around rush hour...I come in at 10 and leave at 7 so I avoid the mess around here. I know people that leave at 5 and don't get home till 6:30 and those that leave at 7 and get home at 7:30 the same distance.
