What’s up guys. I am installing a crank sprocket on my 2019 pp2. The stock sprocket had to be taken off with a puller, and the aftermarket sprocket will not just slide on. Am I good to just tap it on? Thanks

Something is up. You should NOT need a puller to get the production sprocket off. OR a hammer install one.
How closely have you inspected the snout and key?? The crank damper? Did this engine see a supercharger at some point?

Wait... Boosted PP2. (sigh)

No it only has 24000 miles. The crank looks perfect.

The sprocket should slide right on. The harmonic balancer can be tight. I used a heat gun to get it off and on but the sprocket shouldn't have an issue.

The sprocket should slide on and off like butter. If it's fighting you either something is galled or the snout or new sprocket is out of round.

Agreed, both stock and aftermarket should slide right on/off with almost no resistance.

I've done a bunch of these. A little bit of friction on and off is not uncommon.

A "little bit" is one thing. Having to use a puller to get it off and considering a hammer to install is way beyond that.

Sometimes it takes a puller to get them off. The keyway fit is pretty tight. Once its off, he can clean up the snout, inspect and tap on the new on. It's not a big deal.
