There was a road rage shooting in Phoenix just last month. Two idiots pissing each other off, until both idiots got out of their cars and one decided to pull a gun shoot the other who died in the street while his wife and kid were in the car. The shooter was promptly arrested and charged.

This petty crap isn't worth it. People are unpredictable. Check your ego and don't engage with idiots.
I remember that one, along with the deceased's family crying about what a good kind soul he was. Yeah ok.. if its the same one i'm thinking of, he pulled a gun out of his waist band and held it low so the other driver couldn't see it, ran up to the other guy's window and rightfully got his ass blasted. Sad that he died, but he died a raging asshole, he wasn't no kind soul. It's never worth engaging with these psychos we share the road with!

The victim was unarmed in the one I'm thinking of. But he stupidity got out of his car (with his wife and two kids watching) and the other guy blasted him multiple times from his own car, laughed, and drove off. It was all cought on traffic cam. He later turned himself in and was arrested.

That poor idiot let his ego take over and got killed in front of his family over a stupid road rage incident.

Also they were both driving Hondas. Lol.

I've had similar experiences as the OP. Once with a Silverado that caught me completely off guard. I was just driving. I noticed this guy get ahead of me and move over in front of me in the slow lane, but who cares. Eventually he starts slowing to about 55 in a 60. I go to pass him, casually, and he keeps speeding up. At 80-85 I said forget it and slowed to 60 and moved back over. Let him go. I even thought maybe he was unaware and it was just a coincidence. A mile or so later, there he is in front of me doing under the speed limit again. I try to pass, but he keeps serving to block me. I started to get uptight about it, but decided to jump off at the next exit and looped around to allow some distance between us. I don't think he could see me after that. So weird that he went out of his way to do that. Pretty unnerving to say the least. It's never happened to me in another vehicle.

I also drive an F-150. Never occurred to me to act like that.

I'm in pick up country often they are driven by little to tiny men who relish the chance to bully, and it's the reason they buy them, straight from the horse's mouth haha.

They love the huge size on the road and "how everyone moves out of the way".

Often they come up on my ass. I just ignore them or blow them off. I have front a rear cams (highly visible) so feel no pressure.

No one wants a $30K.insurance claim so don't be intimidated....besides Mustangs can take the hits while completely protecting occupants.

Most times I just change lanes and use them as rabbits. Nice big targets for radar and lazer haha.

I do love blowing them off on off and on ramps, open roads and Twisties as well as off the line.....good ol redneck fun haha.

People(most) in the USA have no idea how to drive , let alone drive fast.
It's curios how everyone thinks this statements applies to only their country.
Plenty of idiots also here, but I guess the Hollands, the French, the Spanish and the Austrians are the absolute worse.

LOL, good point but I think of the German s and how they know how to drive a highway with no speed limits. The biggest thing in the USA is people drive the left lane as a lane and not a passing lane thus screwing up the faster traffic. If the right lane is open with no traffic then I m in it.

.... I had a Prius freak out on me in a 50 zone. There's a right turn with a keep moving sign to help with traffic and of course prius stopped. Light horn blow and guy lost it. Now if I rear ended him, it would be his fault...
I can't speak to other parts of the country, but here in FL if you hit another vehicle from behind it is your fault, regardless of the circumstances. They may make exceptions for extenuating circumstances, i.e. if the other car was left unattended on a pubic throughway with no lights or flashers on, and it was at night with no nearby street lights (this situation was actually witnessed by my brother), but most of the time, if the other vehicle has a driver in it and the engine is running, and you hit it from behind, even if it stopped for no good reason you will be the one cited. Any argument about it with the cop, and they will likely quote the drivers test handbook that states the driver must be in control of their vehicle at all times and maintain a safe distance from the vehicles in front of them.

There are a few roadways in the ATL area where it says keep moving. I know a person who hit someone and the driver who stopped was ticketed.

I paid a bit more attention yesterday afternoon and this morning on my drive home and then to work and I noticed that:

1. There aren't a lot of Mustangs on the road at 4pm (or at 6am) on TX59, there's just a huge mix of everything
2. Rams aren't the only trucks on the road, and they're definitely not the only ones whose drivers get triggered.
3. In heavy traffic most drivers are relatively considerate, and if you leave a gap large enough for another car to take up, one from the next lane over will do so. I expect this, so it's no big deal.
4. Most weekday mornings there ARE a lot of cars driving over the speed limit but still slower than others in the far left lane (75 vs 80) in the 55 zone I drive through
5. In light traffic most drivers are relatively considerate, and if you leave a gap large enough for another car to take up, one from the next lane over will do so :)

I believe I'm in the 967 out of 1000 Ram drivers that are on the other side of the posted graph.

This is not new... I remember similar things happening with my past Mustangs as well. For some reason, pickup trucks in particular seem to want to try to bully us (me?), and as a pickup truck owner, I don't get it.

Today's event was on the way to work... single lane 45 mph twisty road down a mountain, 5:30AM, small car doing 40, another car on his tail, Ram with duals and a bed toolbox keeping their speed at a distance. Seemed like he was just a calm guy in no hurry. I caught them quickly but didn't feel I was tailgating.

At the bottom of the hill, the road opens to 2 lanes across a bridge. Right lane turns right at the end of the bridge, left goes straight, the way I need to go. The 3 of them get in the left lane so I go right to pass the slow guy up front. The Ram swerves to cut me off... didn't expect that. So I go left and he cuts me off again. OK, I'll punch it right, passed all 3 just before catching up to a garbage truck in the right lane, and made it back over to the left.

No idea how he did it, but next thing I know he is in my back seat. He swerves right to pass me and I let him go but as he pulled even he ran out of bridge. Swerves back left behind me as the road goes back to single lane and is high beaming from my bumper, can't believe he never hit me. Swerved right like he was going to pass on the shoulder and came back left. I waved like OK dude I give up, and he suddenly slams on his brakes and hangs back 10 car lengths till I turn off and he keeps going. For some reason, trying to pass a car in a passing zone sent him into orbit.

You can't even just be cool and stay in the slow lane. Last summer at a light I'm in the slow lane with my window down and a coal roller pulls up next to me and stops, blasts me with soot into the window, then pulls up to the cars stopped ahead of him.

Some people just behave or react in ways that completely catch you off guard, but there is definitely some kind of pickup truck angst thing going on, at least in western PA.
In a lot of instances, I think it comes down to times are tough for many people. Things are expensive. Wages in many cases are lower. Pressure at home. Pressure at work. They made choices years ago that did not quite pan out and now they are feeling stuck. Then these folks get behind the wheel and are simmering.

Then in their mind someone in a fairly pricey and shiny performance vehicle (whose driver made different choices) performs a maneuver that really is benign but to their already simmering mind it is offensive. And then it starts.

The person in the performance vehicle is the outlet because the simmering driver can't take it out on the folks at home and they can't take it out on the folks at work. So, the person driving their performance vehicle and enjoying the experience gets to deal with it. Which is why when this happens to me, I get the hell out of Dodge... I leave the area via a turnoff, side road, whatever but I remove myself and don't engage. And because my car is unique to the area, it is very recognizable and the last thing I want to do is escalate a situation to the point that the other driver is still pissed and happens to see my car in a parking lot at a later time and decides to act on revenge. No thanks.

recently got a plate that says "friends of coal" "Coal keeps the lights on"
Yup I had one on the bright red Camaro. White plate.

I think folks were so in awe of the 1le package they ran out of emotional capital to rage.
