I used forcan to modify my APIMs splash screen in my last GT using my VCM. If I wanted to update maps using my VCM and IDS/FDRS ( ford diag software) it wouldn't let me till I removed what I did with forcan. It also generated alot of loss of commination codes although everything worked fine.

From experience if you have a issue and take it to a dealership and if they see a visual difference ( like a Lincoln logo on start up in a F250) and they cant not communicate with that module there's a good chance they'll kick the claim. I had a guy change the logos in the ICP to show their name instead of built ford tough but then complain that some of the warning and OD lights wouldn't work. Nice guy, Told him I cant talk to the module and to revert what ever he did if he wanted those lights to work or live with it. He tried to revert it and the ICP bricked. I tried to recover it but it wouldn't take. Told the guy give me a hour for diag and I'll get the part covered but just the once.

NO, its not covered, but yes it can be. Find a car guy when you go the the dealership for any work and be honest with him, if you're on E85 and eat your HO2s and you tell me it was on e85, I got you, once, if it comes back in few months for the same deal it looks like a repeat repair. Also Ford as the right to decline coverage and if the job was done that cost goes to who did the work which is why most dealerships will not mess with you if something looks off. And take note, dealerships and Ford can see every claim and work that's been done at any Ford dealership.

Has anyone else turned on the performance shift indicator function. I did this last night with an MX+2 obdc reader and forscan. Process took a few mins and now I can set the rpm indicator for shifts with the paddles.
There are two setting than need enabled under the IDC (performance shift) and (performance shift indicator). In forscan you simply set them to enable write and turn car off and on.
Does this also add the option to set the shift light style? Like the horizontal bars that move inward as you get closer to the set rpm shift point. I loved that feature on the manual 401A and would love to have it on the auto too!

Tremec owner here and yes, I have used it. It is worthwhile. One less thing to look down at when driving in a "spirited" manner. It is disabled by default with a manual. I'm sure this is because part of enabling the feature is setting the shift point in RPM.

Thanks for the insight on using the Forscan, this and other features.

Does this also add the option to set the shift light style?
Through the existing in-dash menus, there are style options for the tach and the layout with shift light. I'd have to double-check for the light style itself, but yes, I think there are three general options for light style.

Hi Mike, - I have the same issue (A10) and have chatted to the dealership, Ford Perf etc and no joy. I'm not as "savvy" as Jack Sparrow would say... is there some type of instruction to locate this set-up via Forscan? I have searched online and not sure if I should be messing with codes unless it is obvious to me.

If it's disabled by default on A10 cars, it'd be interesting to see what loading a TREMEC default module would do. Being just the IDC, it (probably) wouldn't affect drivability - it just might show/visualize wonky things.

We swap back and forth stock codes on different Raptors to discern differences and try to figure things out.

As noted, the TREMEC cars have this menu available within the factory menu.

Is it a buy once cry once deal or a monthly fee for the setup? I have extra tablets which would come in handy. Is this product necessary for your average Joe or another toy to play with?

Buy once. At least for a year.

Hello guys, one thing I hate when enable the shift performance indicator is the yellow range it show close to the limit you set in the menu, it´s any way to ride off when the performance shift is enabled?

I used the Cartek programmable shit light and Velcro to the windshield right up against the
A pillar . I plug it in at the track and remove it when I am done. I guess I could do a perm. mounting for it but I only need it on the track. The lights don't face me directly, (they face to the right ), but the L.E.D.s are bright enough that I can see it without taking my eyes off the road.
