My shift knob has become annoyingly loose. When I try to tighten it, I can’t put it in reverse. Anyone else have this problem?

If there is a lock nut on it you can take the knob off, raise the nut a little bit and then tighten the knob. If there isn’t a lock nut (stock) then I would get one cause it will fix your issue. Any aftermarket shifter will come with one if you’ve had your eye on some fancy balls lately…?

First post nailed it. Adjust the lock nut up if there is one, or get a nut and the knob will tighten against the nut.
No locktite needed at all.

My Mach 1 shift knob had no jam nut and the Loctite would not allow the knob to loosen. It took so much effort to remove, I don't know if the "soft" threads will ever be the same. Even though the Tremec is supposed to shift fine with the OEM shifter, I went with MGW, and for me, the upgrade is worth every penny.
