Remember it may be stupid to you! Butttttttt if your looking to resale your car you may be the stupid one without it while the stupids that want it are stupidly looking fo...oh dear I've gone cross eyed.
I would think that if resale value is a concern, then getting the GT performance pack is a horrible idea, since retail value always takes a massive hit with a manual transmission.

In regards to manual vs auto from what i've seen is basically you don't lose your investment of choosing an auto. Most of the time I see used automatics about $1k more then an equivalent manual, which is about the equivalent of how much it costs to upgrade when you buy new.

You'll still have to buy new tires if you have difficult winters with the non-PP because the all-seasons that come standard with 90% of the vehicles do not handle snow as well as they are claimed. Blowing out a tire is very unlikely with todays standards of tire technology unless you hit a giant spike that you missed in the road.
First, the all-seasons I have on my Mustang handle snow just fine. The only time I have a problem is when snow is deeper than the axles, so 10+ inches. Other than that, they handle snow with aplomb.

Second, you are COMPLETELY wrong about tire blowouts being unlikely. I've had five blowouts in the last ten years, including two in my 2011 Mustang (both from potholes). I plan on getting a full sized wheel and tire and sticking it in the trunk whenever I need to make long trips in case of a blowout.

That's possible for listings. I'll admit that my sample size is low, because I only know two people who've ever owned a car with a manual, but they both said they'd never buy one again and cited among their reasons the fact that it was impossible to privately sell them since nobody knows how to drive stick and that immediately cuts out 95% of the potential market.

Think it's worth it to get the PP on a GT 6 sp manual that'll be a daily driver?

For the money, I'm not sure I'd see the value. May be best just to add on larger wheels and be done with it. Save some $$$.

As 'passionate' as I am about driving, I don't think I see the benefits of it through regular driving.

Plus, no spare tire. What do you do? I don't think it has run flats, does it?
One thing to consider is that the GT PP has staggered wheels (larger rear wheels) - impossible to rotate and costs more to replace the tires when you need a new set.

What the hell is this world coming to lol? Blows my mind that people are choosing automatic over standard for a sports car. And I'm not factoring in people who do it for health / handicap reasons. Just amazing me how watered down our society is becoming if more and more people "can't" drive standard. I have 4 kids and ill do my part to make sure every one of them knows how before I leave this world.

You also admitted to hitting every curb when you park and scuffing the hell out of your chrome wheels so you're situation is a bit different I would think.

+1 for you driving year round in NY though, not sure I'd have the patience.

I think that for most people, driving this car everyday don't need the PP. This really isn't a car you want to get caught in a heavy rain with, the base GT suspension, brakes, far exceeds the out going model, if you had to drive it everyday in mixed weather all seasons are much better to live with. 95% of the Mustang buyers do not have the capability to drive the std GT to it's limit.

Mine's not a daily driver and I intend to track the car(3-4 road courses near me) so I opted for a stripped PP/Recaro car. I fully intend to find the limit of this car and myself (in a controlled environment). I'm not concerned with scratches or nicks, this car will be driven hard and put away wet. I don't need it to get to work.

The PP is a bargain but as others said you can spend that money on things that would be more useful to your situation. The PP will not lend itself to a great winter car, tire choice is not easy, possible but can be expensive plus I'm leaning towards storage because the treatment they use up here literally melts cars away. Really don't want to be replacing 15" rotors because they bubble up from driving it in winter.

There is no wrong choice, no need for everyone to be right or wrong, it's just an option that if it didn't exist we wouldn't 'need'.

You should be driving a truck if you are going to have snow greater than 8 inches... especially if your car only clears between 5 & 8 inches... I would not want to be ripping up my unders for that case. Well, if a second vehicle is available to you that is [emoji4]

If you are someone who is planning on upgrading the suspension and cooling later or think you might do it, it would be more wise to do it now.
Definitely makes sense if you are financing the car, especially over a longer term. The added cost of the pack isn't going to change the monthly payment that much.

Deciding to get these things later will cost more money and will be cash directly out of pocket.

Now if someone's paying cash for the car and looking to save where they can, then I could see the need to try to save the 2400 if they don't feel they need the upgrade.

Maybe for you, but for me...at some point...probably after about 250 miles spun, I'll want more performance! Just saying. For hardcore drivers like myself; street, strip and now track...it's never enough and there's always room for more improvement in performance. However, for $2000+, it better be a nice start.

i am ready for the hate.

i think if you dont track the car the "package" is a waste of money..

it is designed to protect or enhance the cars ability while driving the over 9/10s experience.

now the answers.
handling wise, if you are driving harder than that on the street you are an idiot.

braking, the car will stop just as fast as the tires will let them.. fade resistance is what the package gets you.

radiator, not going to be an issue on street. FI is a different story.

wheels and tires, you are going to a larger wheel with less and more expensive tire options. tires, less options and wear much faster, more money.

k bar, shocks, springs. not needed for street.

3.55 rear less mpg.

for 2k it is a great deal for someone that will track the car.. for someone that doesent that money could be used elsewhere..

now the big question is the gauges. do you really want to spend 2k for two gauges?

this is for the eco boost.. add 500 bucks for the GT

jmoicbw :)

beers

You are not gonna lose your investment... poor choice in investment in a car anyways... let's just say purchase..lol..... most people who drive sports cars have a preference for manual.. in some cases mpg is better than an auto... in others they are the same. On a brighter note though, can you imagine how many carjackers that know how to drive stick? I remember a story in Seattle about an elderly woman getting carjacked by several teens but could not steal the car because they could not get away... they did not know how to drive stick....lol. I am a firm believer in sports cars deserve stick but these days like in Audi s dual clutch and manumatic transmissions is awesome.. , anyways, guess it's the area and demographics you are in as far selling your car.
