The PP is under kill if you are a true enthusiast...so yeah there is that side of the coin.

Can't judge for too much longer, as soon as I pickup my new Ecoboost on Monday, the Saturn is getting filled with tannerite and dispatched to Valhalla (it has a bad transmission and 298k)

What makes you think it's not worth it for daily driving? It will be my daily driver, and with the 3.73 I'm hearing is better for daily driving. It might depend if you drive a lot of highways though.
we are talking ecoboost here. 3.55 with the performance pack..

to the op,
if you do not track or autocross. without the pp you will get better gas milage, car will ride more comfortable, weigh less, tires will be a lot less to replace.

Good call pepperglen! I did the same, and threw in the nav package as well.

Since here deep South Texas there are absolutely no real racetracks for autocrossing much less any winding mountains roads, it really doesn't help the PP's cause :(

Don't get me wrong tbonez, I would love to autocross my Mustang, but that would have to be in the future once I graduate.

I think the only overkill thing about the PP is the gas mileage.

I know, it's a 5.0 Mustang, but the PP gearing makes the mileage really bad. I have been right about 16-17 mpg mixed city and highway since getting Katie. On the freeway I limit her to 70 mph (and she tachs at 2,000 RPM on the nose there).

But who cares, it's a 5.0, and it's fast.

Just let it be known, the mileage is awful w/ the PP.

can anyone without the PP tell what rpms they are at running at 70mph for comparison?

I am seriously looking to buy a 2015 Ecoboost Mustang as my daily driver with some appearance modifications here and there (Yes I mean the light bar too xD)
TBH I had serious intentions of buying a base Ecoboost with the Performance Package. However, thinking back, I feel as for the use it will probably have, the PP will probably never be used to it's full potential. Now I'm thinking of buying the Ecoboost Premium. Any thoughts? I really loved the black 19"s
It isn't always about max performance. Even if it was, nobody uses it all the time (or even much of the time unless they are getting out on the track or the dragstrip a lot).

What you really need to do is test drive a PP car and a non-PP car and drive them both hard enough without getting out of your own comfort zone to see if the differences in "feel", response, and general composure are worth it to you. They don't have to be comparably equipped, as the difference in weight won't be enough to matter here.

KARR, have you ever been to the track in Cresson? I don't know if that is what you are looking for exactly but they have a big road course track down there.

I haven't. I'd love to take my car there though maybe one day during summer vacations as it would be an almost 9 hr drive :)

Pd. I was in College Station for a year and I had no idea they had a road course D:
