This.

90% of the people here that think the need PP don't. The brakes are the biggest plus to it for a street car. I have it only cause it came on the LE. Although I admit I love the brakes. I would opt for PP for the brakes alone if your future included a blower or turbo (and you want the manual). You can build up a pretty big head of steam and good brakes are a great thing.
With this logic you could say most don't "need" the 5.0, it's more of a desire

5.0 you can actually use, bigger brakes make absolutely no difference until you track it unless you do something really weird...

I actually agree. I got the 5.0 because it's what I want. I don't live my life based on need. I am a want person. I work way too hard and came way too far to justify everything to myself.

Prolly a big part of why my ex left. Bwahaha!

My point was that many people think the car can't perform up to their own abilities if it doesn't have the best of everything. When in truth, the v6 base couple probably fit the bill. Not all, but definitely most.

Selling off parts you didn't need could hurt the resell value.
Thanks for posting THAT! :headbang:
I never will understand the NORTH AMERICAN used car market. In Europe if you at a nice set of wheels it actually puts value to the car. Here they tell you that it is better if the car is stock and you sell the parts online.
All the money guys put in the car is lost if you sell it. I am a bit older and think by myself what would I change that I can easily bring back to the original IF I would sell the Mustang. Getting the PP option was clearly a thing I was safe with as a DD. So no changes there for me and no parts to store in the garage.

I only wanted the PP's brakes because my stock ones squeal. A TSB is pending, but still, this upgrade is a strong possibility. Why make a lateral move? :D

That was the only "mod" I had planned on, and not aftermarket (I guess?). I don't plan on driving on any track.

Would this single improvement really affect resale value negatively, you think?
(Resale...perish the thought! :faint:)

Or, is the whole idea overkill to begin with?

Just change the pads. Changing the entire brakes is overkill for solving sqeeky brakes.

I don't think anyone in here has mentioned the bigger splitter and side dam thingies. Not a huge difference but they do look better IMO.
