Too all the lucky Mustang owners, I have a question regarding trunk space.

If you have time and two 26" roller bags available, will they both fit in the trunk? Although the fiancee and I will likely use the Sante Fe for road trips, it would be nice to know we could fit both of our suitcases in the trunk. I guess it's either that or throw the camera gear in separate from the bags...

It seemed like they'd almost fit in a S197 convertible, but the limiting factor seemed to be the "hump" where the rear axle was more than anything.

Thanks!

I am 100% confident they would fit with the rear seats folded down. 90% confident they would without folding the rear seats down. The trunk has 6 LPC, or Large Pumpkin Capacity.

The opening is certainly not an issue -- opening size is the same as on my S197 and I never have a problem fitting an overstuffed large rolling bag in. I've never tried to fit two, but I'd imagine it wouldn't be a problem now that the load floor is flat.

I have had 2 large suit cases in the back of my '05 for tips to the airport. if it is just you and your Financee, then it would have been OK. On the '15, i am not sure about how much they increased or decreased the opening, so, the test will be getting my golf clubs back there.... (fingers crossed!!)

I would think 2 sets of golf clubs is the absolute minimum requirement for cars lol. If they don't fit, they aren't allowed to manufacture the car

You've obviously never driven a Miata... or a Lotus (although neither have I).

I did drive a Lotus Elise in Cancun a couple years ago. Can't say I tried to open the "trunk" but I'm sure there isn't space. It was hard enough to get into as a driver, and I'm pretty limber and in shape haha. Then again that car doesn't count, it's just a small-car sized go kart.
