Other Ecoboost problems?

I have a EB on order but I'm slightly concerned with information I've seen about trouble with Fords other Ecoboost motors, the 3.5 in f150s and SHO and the 2.0 in Explorers.
The problems seem to be misfires and CELs from carbon build up due to some design of the GDI and intake set up.
Can anyone bring more knowledge on these issues and if it's something we need to watch for?

Before this forum, I had never heard of a catch can. I've had several 1.8T and 2.0T cars in the past and none of those (Audi and Saab) forums brought up a catch can.
Is a catch can something worth installing for engine protection and would it affect Ford's warranty?

Its a direct injection issue is what is feared, not just a EB issue. I own a VW passat 2.0T and I was having a couple issue with the car and out of the blue, they said it was a known carbon build up issue. They quoted me $1800 to clean out the carbon. For that sort of money, I will just deal with it and then sell the car. Thats a 1/4 of the cars value. On a side note, I asked them why the loss of power (or transmission slippage) only occurred at acceleration between 60-70 MPH and not along the same RPM range? The experts at the VW dealership could not explain why "carbon build up" only showed itself at certain speeds and not RPM.

Moral of the story, don't believe all mechanics. Ford would not build this engine and then hide issues and be in the same shoes as GM

Even though its not the s550 2.3l, its still an EcoBoost motor from the F-150, the 3.5l EcoBoost, and there are over a million of them on the road now !! These videos just posted by Ford explain the advanced tech and high reliability.

catch can will not hurt and will not void warranty. H2o meth injection thread has started, but will not yield much info until the car is out.

the catch can seems to help other direct injection engines.
