I have a 2022 Mach 1. My only upgrades are headers/Hpipe and here in the very near future tuning it to E85. Do I need to upgrade my oil pump gears and crank sprocket if I intend to stay NA?
I’ve never ran E85, since it is only available at one place 50 miles from me in my general area, and I’ve never ran a flex tune for the same reason, just a 91 tune.
My opinion though: If I did have E85 around, I’d probably still go flex in the event I wanted to take a road trip and not have to reflash just to fill up due to lack of E85.
A proper flex tune is definitely a better option for many reasons, but good luck finding a tuner who really understands how to make it work as well as the oem.
Definitely dont need oil pump gears, as for the tune just like @engineermike said issue with flex tunes is getting it to run the way you want, your going to have to work with your tuner ( if they even offer it ) If E85 is available and not an issue to find near you id personally go with a dedicated E tune. Best of luck
