A proper flex tune is definitely a better option for many reasons, but good luck finding a tuner who really understands how to make it work as well as the oem.…Iis a flex tune or strictly E85 a better option?
That’s what I did. My car lived on Flex for normal driving. When I drove down to Florida from Kansas City, I started out on E85, but after having to get off the beaten path a couple of times to find more, I just started pumping 91/93. On track days I flashed to the E85 tune.I’ve never ran E85, since it is only available at one place 50 miles from me in my general area, and I’ve never ran a flex tune for the same reason, just a 91 tune.
My opinion though: If I did have E85 around, I’d probably still go flex in the event I wanted to take a road trip and not have to reflash just to fill up due to lack of E85.
