Billet Oil Pump Gears?

Need some advice. I’m getting ready to put the ESS Supercharger system on my Mach 1. Is it a must to do the oil pump gears? If so I’m in the Midwest and need to know of a shop near me that is very good at it and what would be the labor cost to have this installation preformed?

$1300 is about average cost. I did the Kinetic crank saver stud only when my ESS was installed.

I did mine, as well as the crank sprocket for the timing chains, and upgraded the tensioners to the boss 302/Predator tensioners. Lot's of people don't do this because it is a challenging job, or don't want to pay a shop to do it.

I did crank gear, oil pump gear & crank stud as well on my Whipple GT (before it’s was totaled, got t boned). Plan on doing the same to my ‘22. Def insurance for the engine, especially a manual car if u accidentally bounce off redline. I’ve watched videos of people dropping OEM & billet oil pump gear on the ground. OEM gears shatter, billet ones don’t.
Clint at The Snake Pit Speed Shop in Columbia Station, OH did all my oil pump gear & supercharger work. Very thorough, got pics/updates throughout the process. They specialize in Mustangs, won best modern speed shop at Piston Power Show at IX Center in Cleveland.

same thing we tell everyone.

its not a must. but, if you plan on transbrake / two steps, running out the rpms, its nice insurance
