I have a 2022 Mach 1. My only upgrades are headers/Hpipe and here in the very near future tuning it to E85. Do I need to upgrade my oil pump gears and crank sprocket if I intend to stay NA?

Sounds good. Thanks. Along with that, is a flex tune or strictly E85 a better option?

I’ve never ran E85, since it is only available at one place 50 miles from me in my general area, and I’ve never ran a flex tune for the same reason, just a 91 tune.
My opinion though: If I did have E85 around, I’d probably still go flex in the event I wanted to take a road trip and not have to reflash just to fill up due to lack of E85.

A proper flex tune is definitely a better option for many reasons, but good luck finding a tuner who really understands how to make it work as well as the oem.

Definitely dont need oil pump gears, as for the tune just like @engineermike said issue with flex tunes is getting it to run the way you want, your going to have to work with your tuner ( if they even offer it ) If E85 is available and not an issue to find near you id personally go with a dedicated E tune. Best of luck

That’s what I did. My car lived on Flex for normal driving. When I drove down to Florida from Kansas City, I started out on E85, but after having to get off the beaten path a couple of times to find more, I just started pumping 91/93. On track days I flashed to the E85 tune.

I got a buddy that bought a 55 gallon drum of E85 and put it in his garage. Gets you about 4-5 tanks of fuel in his car then he just loads the drum into his truck and drives about 45 minutes for us and fills it up and repeat. That’s the route I’m gonna try.

Great idea, although, 5 gallon jugs might be much easier to manage than the 55 gallon drum. No pump would be needed with jugs either.

When I first tuned with Lund on E85 for my nitrous setup, I had six 5 gal. pails of One Ethanol S delivered to my house. I burned through it all extremely fast.
