If you can swing the TSS's do it. They are the superior set. I wish I had gone that route.

Engine runs strong. No noises other than all the normal coyote ones. 😂 I never would have noticed pressure was low if it wasnt for the idiot light. The pp1 guage reads high so pressure looked ok there. Hoping to dive back in this weekend to try and get to the bottom of it. 🤞🤞🤞

Just curious what was your pp1 gauge was reading at idle and upper rpms?

Idle looked like 12psi but was only 8.
Looked like 40psi at 3k rpm but was only 30ish.
Maxed out just shy of 70 psi on the pp1 gauge but only hit 55psi on the mechanical gauge.

Hey yall, I know this is an old thread of mine but I wanted to update everyone. So the mmr drop in gears had score marks in them and the case. Ended up with Boundary gears in a new case and old girl was fixed. Luckily the engine was not hurt, so avoid mmr.

You're not the first person to report having issues with MMR.

Glad it's back in action

Got the car out of the garage earlier today for a cruise in. Haven't driven it in two weeks. I hear a little weird noise with it idling while i close the garage up. Almost like a weird sucking sound. I don't know the best way to describe it. I start down the road and low oil pressure light comes on. push the clutch in and goes off. I stop and watch it for a second and its not coming on idling. Start heading home and its fine as long i give it throttle in gear.

Go to parts house and get a new oil pressure sensor and change it out and its still doing it. I tried to find something but didn't see anything in the forum.

So oil pressure is fine when,
car is idling,
in gear with the throttle is applied,
when laying the wood to it.

light comes on when,
off throttle in gear.

Car has a 2.9 whipple
mmr opgs
mmr crank sprocket
whipple tune currently.

I'm lost, I don't wanna to take it to a dealer but i also don't wanna to play a game with the engine... so any info or insight would be great.
That not good. When I upgraded my CS, Timing Chains, Tensioners ETC, I opted to Install the MMR Hurricane High flow Oil Pump Assembly. I just couldn't see putting new steels OP gears in a worn OEM Oil Pump Aluminum housing. I wish you good luck and keep us posted.

I bought this car with them in them. I just remember the terrible stories from the 03/04 cobra days of their short blocks. Thought they would be better but I'll never buy anything of theirs.

That does suck but, you can replace the oil pump assembly on a week end and never look back. Good Luck and keep us posted. I would also recommend cleaning or replacing the small filters in the cams.
