So just got done have new head gasket installed as well as arp head studs. Was lifting the heads under high boost. (Or blew head gasket).

Reinstalled motor along with the twins. Threw it on the dyno to make sure everything still looked good. Made same numbers per boost setting. 927 rwhp at about 15.5 lbs of boost.( highest settin). So of course I'm heading to the track this morning and warming up the car and all of sudden low oil pressure warning comes on. Turned off immediately and turned back on and all seemed ok. So drove around the neighborhood and it would do it intermittently. Got it home,' checked the oil pressure sensor plug and it was plugged in tight. Wound up breaking the wire while trying to get it unplugged. Ran to dealer and got new plug and spliced. Restarted and let her ran for fifteen mins and so far so good. Checked wiring for burns or anything and all looks good. Checked grounds, they look good. The fact that it's intermittent leads me to believe it's not the motor???

Any ideas? Next step would be change sensor, And I'll throw a mechanical gauge on it to see where the oil pressure actually is.

The same pigtail you replaced was probably damaged during head work. sketchy intermittent signal.

I damaged the plug trying to unplug it that's why I had to replace. I pulled the motor to have the head studs installed. I hand delivered motor to engine guy already mounted to a stand.

That's what I'm thinking though, Sketchy signal.

U have a good idea, run a mechanical gauge and just cruise around and keep an I on the oil p pressure gauge.

So got the mechanical gauge installed and fired her up. Creeped up to 28 psi then slowly went down with the car running. Low oil pressure light on immediately and never went off.

Removed oil cooler and changed oil filter. Started back up......... 90 psi on the mechanical gauge but low oil pressure light still on in car. Put the oil cooler back on. Same....... good oil pressure (90 psi) but low oil pressure light on. Replaced oil pressure sensor and same. Still low oil pressure light. Ohmed out wire from plush to ecm. Wire is good. Hmmmmm

So took original sensor and used port was using for the gauge instead of the fitting off the block. No more low oil pressure light.

Question is what caused the oil filter to clog( brand new amsoil filter). As well as the factory fitting off the block.

Also drained and checked the oil for any metal. Not a spec.

Some oil filters have bypass wonder if something malfunctioned in the filter as i doubt it was clogged.
