Has anyone with a GT350 purchased new waited until the "Change Oil" indicator came on to do the 1st change, and if so had the oil analyzed?
I’ve never seen the indictor turn on. First change was around 700 miles. I change it going into and out of winter storage. I’m averaging just under 2k miles a year so it works out fine for me. I have no noticeable, excessive oil use.

First oil change at 1500. I'll change again when the light says.

Here’s a novel idea...oil analysis. If you’re dead set on anything below 5,000 miles an no one is gonna change your mind, then sure, analysis is probably a waste. If you don’t like wasting oil/money, an analysis is the only way to go. Anything else is speculation...and no, 3,000 mile oil changes are not “cheap insurance”.

Kinda surprised no one brought that’s up yet.

I had the factory fill swapped out at 2,500 miles and then had its second oil change at 7,100.

I am at 11,000 now (and about 6 months in terms of time) but wondering if it would be a waste to change the oil going forward at such short intervals (my dealer is now trying to charge $20 per quart of oil on their servicing pricing which seems ridiculous).

I am thinking that about every 6k or 12 months without track time would be acceptable. And yes I would definitely find somewhere more reasonable to do that change at the price noted above but what do you guys think about my interval plan and the pricing of the job (assume I am not able to do the work myself)????

I had mine a year with mostly driving around town with 2,700 miles on it and oil change light came on. Since even though low miles oil had been in car a year I went ahead and did first oil change.

$200 just for the oil is ridiculous...

You should watch out, they may be trying to pour some gold or other precious metal in there...cuz no way in hell does a quart of oil cost $20.

If you purchase the MC 5W50 separately, it's like 10 bux a quart or something like that. Maybe bring it in yourself and have them do just the labor...but IMO I would stay away from these crooks.

There’s nothing wrong with waiting for the oil change message.

I would ask to talk to that dealerships owner. And flat out tell him there is no where that that oil is $20.00 a quart. That the highest is $10.00 at any Ford dealership and even cheaper online. (my dealership parts charges me $9.50 a quart including tax) And if he gives you **** then tell him your going to go home and post all over the internet the name of the dealership and that they are charging twice as much for a quart of oil for the Shelby GT350. And even if he says he will come down to what it should cost I'd tell him to late you will take your car to another Ford dealership for maintenance. (you wouldn't want to take the chance that they would mess your car up out of spite). Under warranty you can take it to what ever Ford dealership you want if any work is needed.

Changed mine at 500 miles again at 1000 and at 2500. Was amazed at how dirty or dark it looked at 2500. Spirited driving only, but city stop and go. Don’t plan on going over 2500 miles between changes. Changed the oil plug as well.

I've recently completed an oil change at 4800mi with amsoil in one year of driving. Wish I knew about the K&N filter option instead of motorcraft.

Where are u seeing the K and N oil filter? I don’t see it on their website, I have the air filter for engine and cabin already.

I cross-referenced other vehicles using Motorcraft FL-2062 and found 2.7L Ecoboost engine from F-150s...they have the K&N PS7037 as an option...

Just to clarify, this is the cartridge filter, not the spin on filter FL-2069-ST for the earlier 5.2s.
