Has anyone here been able to find (in U.S.) this type of Castrol oil?
It meets the requirement for GT350.... Ford WSS-M2C931-C

Am looking for this oil as well, until then I'm using Amsoil. Change mine after right after her winter nap.

If you’re using Amsoil now, why would you swap to Castrol (or any oil for that mattter) at a later date? Doesn’t buy you anything and I’d even argue it’s not even a superior product. Brand loyalty?

Just did 2nd oil change at 6060 miles (first one at 2200). Oil consumption seems to be 1 qt/1500 miles the last 3000. Also installed a passenger side JLT catch can 1000 miles ago - checked it for the first time and there was exactly 1 oz of oil in it. Noticed the catch can wasn't very tight - I didn't check it when I installed. Will continue following consumption on my spreadsheet. And also took a sample for Blackstone analysis - requested a sample kit yesterday.

The oil change indicator also factors in time - one year - regardless of mileage.
Old thread but I can confirm mine did this today.

It's been roughly a year since my last oil change. Not very many miles put on it so I thought it was odd the indicator came on but now it makes complete sense.

So I pick up my new ā€˜19 last month. Oil indicator states 100%.
I made a deal for an oil change due to length of time the car sat, it had 43 miles when I bought it.
Short story is they couldn’t do the change because I bought on a Sunday. I could come back but wasn’t about to travel another 300 miles round trip for a free oil change so they just sent me the oil and filter.
Bottom line....The dealership reset the indicator before I took delivery without changing the oil.
Thought it was a crap move but whatever. Talked to a buddy about it today as he’s a master tech at a high end franchise dealership. Ya that’s what they do.

Did the dealership provide you the filter FL-2087?

If they gave you a free oil change kit (including the correct filter), why would resetting the monitor be a crap move? They probably assumed you were gonna change the oil right away since you bargained for it, and maybe thought they were helping out. The car doesn’t turn into a pumpkin when the monitor reaches 0% or anything. That things a placebo anyways.

I think that the indicator doesn't start to count down until a certain number of miles after manufacture. OEM's do that to ensure that a new car with new oil rolls out of the showroom with new oil indicated on the OLM. Even if the car sat for a year before delivery, the original oil would be fine. Modern oils don't age much until they have some contamination in them, and even then they don't age much.

A buddy in the know told me the same thing. That’s why I haven’t changed it yet.

Ya, you’re right. Pumpkins aren’t here until October and I’ll have a few thousand miles by then.

The sales staff had nothing to do with resetting anything. Whoever prepped the car for me had no idea the sales staff was sending me the oil care package.
Now knowing the oil life indicator doesn’t begin to calculate until after a few miles, I feel different about the crap move.
You see we read misinformation all the time. I’ve read here, the count down happens the moment it’s reset. I just ass u med the countdown begins when the car comes off the assembly line as well....stupid me.
If I mothball the car for a year ā€œafterā€ I reset the OLI, it would alert me in one year right? What is the difference from that vs new, never sold cars that are a year old?
