Right, so 0805 for the toggles and 0603 for the buttons? Wonder if the 0805s will work on the buttons, otherwise I might leave those or just remove them.
They probably would work, but LEDs are cheap to order, get them both and order a couple extras just I'm case you drop one.

I've removed mine from the top buttons, not necessarily what I was intending to do. A single solder pad came off of each LED section for me. Be careful of that. I might be able to scrape away some of the board, expose the connector, and put some solder down to make it work. The lights on those buttons arent really a loss.

PCBs don't have more conductive material in then, it's fiberglass. If you desolder the pad, your best bet is a silver pen to repair it, but it's very hard with SMD-size components/pads.

Next time make sure you have a good soldering iron with temperature control.

Also, I'm lazy, so I ordered 100 0805s on Amazon, not sure I want to order 100 more :) I'll just figure it out with these, might solder a small switch to the top buttons to easily turn them off/on.

Thanks for the info. I had bought a nice soldering iron for this job, adjustable temp and everything. I'm not sure why the pads came off with the LED. Ironically, they were both the negative pad. I had no issues when doing the toggles and start button. Oh well.

Likely too much heat and/or on the pad for too long. They're very fragile :( Next time, try sliding it parallel to the board instead of pulling it up, less chance of ripping off the pad.

Talk to the guy. He said that if he does 540 it's not free shipping... With free shipping it'll be same price as Patrick did ($620). I talked to him I just need a minimum of 8 order... If there's enough member who wants it. I might wanna try to do a group buy for y'all...

It's 540 without shipping. It's actually $620 at the end shipped.

I'll still be in. Once it is set up properly, it seems to be a solid unit. My desire for it is a lot more simple than most : having a more visible RPM gauge for shifting, GPS, and a larger screen for the camera. I'm not really worried about the rest.

I was just taking a closer look at the cables, as I was pondering how to integrate a dash cam. Did anyone ever figure out these chinese labels on the cable with all these ends? There's another one with AUX IN L/R/Video (English labels) as well.

Will the stock USB's work, or do we have to use the two it comes with? If we use the two supplied, will they fit where the originals are located?

The usb's that it comes with just plug into the stock harness, all factory locations are retained and functional. However only one works at a time so you may want to decide if you want that or want to wire one to charge while the other handles connection to the head unit.

Both of mine worked at the same time. I had one with media on it, and the other one charges my WiFi Hotspot.

I need a shit list! To those of you who have it installed so far, what are your gripes? Here's what I have so far...

1. The Orange Mustang theme is cheesy, Black theme is preferred, but US weather.
2. LED's are green, instead of blue.
3. Outside temp is C not F
4. Slow boot time
5. "Dail" and "Please Attention the surroundings" Engrish

Not sure who the list is for, but if it's for the guy who you've been dealing with when putting these group buys together then....
