Yeah, the other 2 wires dont go anywhere for us. The Tesla unit manufacturers provided us base model owners no way to hook up to get CANbus information. They could have made a harness doing this for us.

So, I contacted the guy from china through ebay. He is willing to sell to anyone who feels comfortable dealing with him directly with paypal.

I got the unit for $620 bux and it will be at my door tomorrow (ordered on the 21st)

I will report back if anything sketchy goes on but so far so good! They requested a picture of my stock head unit and asked me about my car and phone number.

I'm waiting to receive mine, and so are others; I have read all the pages from the beginning until we all placed our orders, when the thread was at page 11 and have kept up with every post since then. Now this thing is at page 44!!! lol

I'm not gonna lie, I probably won't remember shit when it's time to install mine

I have gone back and updated the first post. I will put captions to all of my pictures when I'm at home and can actually see them. I have lots of free time since my unit is stuck in a bootloop. China is now telling me it could be mid-March before he sends me a new host, which is NOT helping my anger issues.

I just learned that the HVAC, Start, and toggles all operate independently from the Host. I removed the gost (brain) and it all still functions. I'm hoping that just connecting my laptop directly to the host via USB will yield some positive results for recovery mode, but I have my doubts.

My theory for testing this is, I had an old cell phone that I wanted to flash a recovery image to, but the standard "VOL + Power" routine didn't work, and you had to pull the battery, then plug it in USB and voila, it was in "Download Mode" and I was able to use Odin to flash the files to it. If that works with this, then I'm gonna be happier than a pig in shit.

I made some other interesting findings too, but it may be useless information.

With just the MAIN power harness plugged in, and the screen connected, the screen will not come on. If the small purple connector was plugged in, then the unit booted- Here's where it gets strange- I could then disconnect the purple connector, and hit the Start button on the car to kill power to the unit, but it would still continue to boot! With "RUN" power off, if I reconnect that purple plug, it shut the unit off. That tells me the "On/Off" connection is somewhere in that purple harness, if it helps at all, @StangATX .
