That’s a real problem!
I was planning on using self tapping screws, three each, at four different locations on front and rear fenders for my high speed cameras.
I know, I know.... stupid freakin rules!

For anyone interested in bringing a Gopro (or other small camera) so you dont have to pay the $175'ish fee for their stuff, one of the program coordinators confirmed you're allowed to bring your own equipment, as long as the mounts don't include anything sticky or something that requires a screw to mount it to the car. Suction cup mounts are fine, as well as helmet mounts (assuming you're using you're own helmet, like I am.)
Do they supply a helmet if you don't own one?

I just scheduled for March 19 (reception)-20 (Track day). Anyone else staying at the embassy?
I am also scheduled for March 19th and 20th. I am in Batesville, IN currently but used to live in Indy... will have to be sure and introduce myself. We are staying downtown Charlotte as this is the start of a family vacation.

Looking forward to the Roval - I went out to the 1 day event in Utah during 2018 - wonderful day.

Cool, I'll be find to find you and say hi.

Anyone know how many people are typically in a class?

I am scheduled for my track attack in 7 weeks. Anybody else started to get worried about this being canceled because of the Coronavirus? I am not thrilled about getting on an airplane in 7 weeks.

There is zero reason to cancel the track attacks unless instructors are actually ill.

you have a better chance of dying by shark attack while infected with flu A.

I'm scheduled for June. I've yet to book air fare or the hotel at this point. I checked the website last night and there was no news. My wife's company has ordered people to work from home. We have customers canceling business in Mass with my company due to corporate travel restrictions. I'll drive the 16 hours there from NH if I have to.

I am not worried about the actual track event. I am worried about the 4 1/2 hour flight.
I personally find it funny that we’re worried about something that 38 have died from in the US, mostly 70+ year olds, and not remotely worried about driving 140 mph on a track with a bunch of other amateurs at track attack.

I flew two commercial legs today and was expecting everyone to be wearing face masks at ATL. To my surprise I’d say less than 1% of people were wearing a mask and everyone was acting normal (as they should.)

I’ll start to get worried when corona deaths equal yearly flu deaths (250,000+).

I wouldn’t sweat it. The media is blowing it out of proportion.

You keep flying on those cigar tubes full of germs. Sure the infectious rate is low in the US but this is not fake news my friend. It can go south in a hurry.

I’m not saying it’s fake, just blown out of proportion at the moment (just my opinion.)

One good thing that’s come from this, more people are washing their hands and covering their coughs on a regular basis.

I typically agree commercial airplanes are germ central, but at least airlines have started to sanitize after every flight: https://news.delta.com/updated-deltas-aircraft-cleaning-and-sanitizing-procedures

I worked for a major airline as an aircraft mechanic for 37 years. I know a little something about how the recirculating AC systems work. It is not a good system for health.
Yes people are washing their hands. We went out to dinner the other night and there was no line for the urinal but there were 3 guys in line to wash there hands.
Now is the time to blow it out of proportion. This is not how China handed it and that is the problem right now.

From my rep at Ford Perfoemance Racing School when asked if they had any plans or if there had been any discussions about shutting down due to corona. She replied with this,

“Currently we are not cancelling or postponing programs. Everything is running as usual!”

Whether to go to the track attack event or cancel is really not a health risk issue at this time. BUT there are some real issues to consider. If your flying into Charlotte will all of a sudden they shut down domestic flying? One day you could fly to and from Europe the next day you couldn’t. They have cancelled almost every single sporting event there is, and this happened all within 24 hours, companies have essentially ceased operations for the immediate future, if you work for certain (frankly many) industries you should be very concerned about your future paycheck and how that will be affected. The ramifications of what’s happening is very real. I’m not trying to sound alarmist or the sky is falling in any way, but people are going to have to live with being uncomfortable in at least the short term. I for one am scheduled next week and was on the phone immediately when they opened it up and dialed over a hundred times, etc. to get through. I paid the extra 2K+ for an extra day. I am most likely going to call them today and cancel my class. I am in an industry that will see demand for services fall upwards of 90% and have no visibility what my employment may look like in the next few months. I don’t want to spend the extra few hundred on hotels, rental cars, and food. On the news they talk about restricting travel to certain states. In Italy they shut down almost everything with little to no notice. FWIW they were a little flippant with me on the phone when I voiced my concerns over the ability of transportation there and back home. One of the people said they needed to know by today because they were about to place the food order. I’m sorry but I already paid for everything in full.... FP race school is not out anything if I can’t or won’t show up, especially when in reality all of this is truly beyond my control.
