Whether to go to the track attack event or cancel is really not a health risk issue at this time. BUT there are some real issues to consider. If your flying into Charlotte will all of a sudden they shut down domestic flying? One day you could fly to and from Europe the next day you couldn’t. They have cancelled almost every single sporting event there is, and this happened all within 24 hours, companies have essentially ceased operations for the immediate future, if you work for certain (frankly many) industries you should be very concerned about your future paycheck and how that will be affected. The ramifications of what’s happening is very real. I’m not trying to sound alarmist or the sky is falling in any way, but people are going to have to live with being uncomfortable in at least the short term. I for one am scheduled next week and was on the phone immediately when they opened it up and dialed over a hundred times, etc. to get through. I paid the extra 2K+ for an extra day. I am most likely going to call them today and cancel my class. I am in an industry that will see demand for services fall upwards of 90% and have no visibility what my employment may look like in the next few months. I don’t want to spend the extra few hundred on hotels, rental cars, and food. On the news they talk about restricting travel to certain states. In Italy they shut down almost everything with little to no notice. FWIW they were a little flippant with me on the phone when I voiced my concerns over the ability of transportation there and back home. One of the people said they needed to know by today because they were about to place the food order. I’m sorry but I already paid for everything in full.... FP race school is not out anything if I can’t or won’t show up, especially when in reality all of this is truly beyond my control.
There's no waiting list? They can't call people that want your two-day time slot and refund your money?

I signed up for my event 25 days before the event, and the rep made it a point to tell me plans were set in stone and non-refundable within 30 days of a scheduled event. Maybe it has to do with the instructors schedule?

That being said, I’m scheduled for end of next week... if they’d let you transfer your track slot for beginning of next week to someone else I’d be willing to compensate you to take it. My schedule is wide open.

I am in an industry all but CRUSHED BY THIS (concert production AND audio-visual). I FEEL YOUR PAIN. All my work is gone for the next 2 months. The city won't issue permits, the venues are on a limit of 150 people or they cannot operate... these are desperate times

Thanks for the offer but the slot is only shifted by a couple days so I do not think they would refund the money to anyone. You could just call them and ask them if you could slip yours a few days because my slot will be open. I called and left a message with them today. I had a 350 track attack on Mar 18, and 2nd day option on the 19th. It would be nice if they at least refunded the insurance that won’t be used. But I’m sure they won’t because of their policy which was clearly laid out and I respect. It’s my decision to not go.

Have you looked at the possibility of getting your credit card company involved? Depending on when they charged your card you might have options. I have travel interruption benefits for 120 days with one of my cards.... just a thought.

Thanks. I’ll look into that.

Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately entire companies and industries are wondering if they will be going concerns in the future. This is adversely affecting everyone and hopefully is short lived otherwise the economic pain could be worse than the virus itself. Hopefully there will be better news in the next few weeks

To whom event need to be canceled. Cancelation is not exactly necessary. Given the situation, FP racing school can reschedule your event for later this or if necessary for the next year.

This response is so untrue. This is what I got back from the school this last week. "Ford Performance Racing School has decided that “It is purely their decision not to attend our school, and that at this time, no accommodations will be made to reschedule due to the Corona Virus.” I find this response to be very short sighted by Ford and the school. I am very disappointed.

I'm surprised by FP response. From what I heard they been accommodating people who purchased GT350 two years before event. Did you call and speak with representative in person?

This information came from Amie Hadley the Operations Coordinator of Ford Performance Racing School.
I concur. They said they won’t reschedule I talked to Aime and the scheduler that your supposed to call to reschedule via Ainea voicemail. She was more concerned about her food order even though I already paid in full for everything. Wonder if I get my insurance I paid for back?????

This is going to sound horrible, but since I’ll still be attending and I’m guessing many will be canceling, I’m looking forward to running with less people on the track.

Luckily I’m in the younger demographic and less susceptible to serious complications from the virus. . . not needing to take an airline flight there also makes the decision easier for me.

I feel horrible for the people that this is effecting in a negative manner, particular from a financial standpoint.
