Actually, a Ford Supervisor just told me updates are free for 3 years. I, also, thought it was one and done.
Sometimes Ford releases an update OTA before it's put on the website. James is also getting it for free even though he used his one freebie already. He must be a very special person.![]()

This was a Ford Supervisor not SyncNav.In my experience, every supervisor says something different, every single time I have contacted the 3rd party in charge of maps.

My car just finished another download. This time I got the new map package NA 220. That's more cool than Gracenotes.
I take back the double face palm meme. Ford grabbed the wifi by the horns and is running with it.
According to the resident Ford Sync technician on this forum, there will be about 10 downloads total. It's downloading languages, voices, etc
Now yet ANOTHER download. What is it this time?

So what you’re seeing with all these extra files coming down is the latest map update. This consists of 13 files in total and is several GB in size. You may see NA 20Q2 as your map version and it’ll still be pulling files for other areas, Nav voice packs for the languages, etc. You don’t need to leave the car on for hours to get these. Use it normally and when it hits WiFi it’ll continue on in the background.
I still have no NA 220 update available. My car just finished another download. This time I got the new map package NA 220. That's more cool than Gracenotes.

Same boat different captains. The confusing part is "when it hits wifi", it will download in the background. I don't think it downloads if the car is off and or not in accessory mode. I put mine on a charger and go out and hit accessory every 30 minutes to allow the downloads. I am on day 2 of doing this and still not finished.
